“Awesome Shower - Huge Rooms - Fast Internet - Great Host!!!”

We really enjoyed our stay at Abacus House. Lovely large rooms, big bathrooms, and a shower with great water pressure, which is a real rarity in Ireland. The host was very thoughtful, leaving wine glasses and plates in our room after we had requested them on the previous evening. It was a nice and thoughtful touch. An excellent breakfast, with some great chit chat with the owner. I liked how our host was friendly and open, but left us to our privacy at the right times. I had a great stay at this guest house, and thought it offered great value for money. We even ended up staying an extra night. Thank you for such an amazing stay in Galway!!!

“Great Shower, Huge Room and Lovely Owner!”

We had a fantastic stay in this guesthouse and would highly recommend it. Having stayed in many B&Bs across Ireland, it is a luxury to stay in a place with a good shower! So many of the other places seem to lack that. Also, the room we stayed in was huge, far bigger than we expected, and the bathroom was very large as well. So great value for the price. I felt the owner was lovely too, she was very friendly and polite, chatty, but also left us to our own privacy at the right times, so the perfect host for a B&B in my opinion. She was also thoughtful in leaving out wine glasses and plates in our room, as we had requested them on the previous evening - it was a nice touch. And we had a lovely breakfast too. Thank you for such a lovely stay.

“Lovely family-run B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

Louise and her family were such a pleasure to speak with and could always be reached to ask advice. In the morning, you could choose a cold breakfast like I did of cereal, yogurt and fruit or a hot breakfast of eggs and bacon like my friends-as well choose from many other favorites!. I love the "NOM" ?? yogurt and Louise and her mom actually gave me one for the road, as well as a few bags of tea we can't find in the States. Thanks again!
There were three of us travelling, so we shared a triple room. It was spotless and came en suite with a clean and modern bathroom. The shower had plenty of hot water and good presure.
My one travel companion's only complaint was that it was cold when we first arrived in the late afternoon, as the heat comes in the evening to warm the room for the night. But we had plenty of sheets, blankets and extra wool blankets, and we were warm once we were tucked in.
We took the bus into town- a two minute walk to the bus stop around the corner and maybe a 5-10 minute ride into town. We took a cab home (11 Euros) from the town square late in the evening.
I would definitely recommend the B&B to my friends and family and I thank everyone at Abacus for making us feel welcome!

“...a special place to be !”

Thank you!
I really enjoyed my stay in this fabulous B&B. Friendly people, good flexible service and of course very clean rooms. The family always gave a good recomandation for several things, like trips on the weekend, pubs and more. They even managed to make me feel homely during my 2 weeks stay without disturbing my privacy. They were there when I needed them and not if I didn´t. A perfect combination. Finally free WIFI is not standard for B&B which I highly welcomed to use.Go there and you will have a good time !

“Great B&B in Galway!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

We really enjoyed our stay at Abacus Guesthouse. We stayed in a big dubble room with bathroom. It was cosey and clean and had all the facilities we needed and more! The B&B was located a few minutes drive from the town centre in a nice and quiet area with a bus stop close-by which took us to the centre of Galway in less than five minutes. Breege was very friendly and helpful and made us feel really welcome in her home.
The breakfast menu was impressing, several different cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit, tea, freshly brewed coffee, and irish breakfast. We give our highest recommendations to Abacus Guesthouse and hope to stay there again!
