“Perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Just back from a weekend away in Galway and my partner and I stayed with Eddie in the Four Seasons. We knew we wanted to stay on College road and we're delighted we picked The Four Seasons.Just a 5 minute walk into the city, it was great not to have to worry about paying for parking in the city as it can be quite costly.Eddie was the perfect host. The room was clean with a nice size bathroom, and a great shower. WiFi was also available and free of charge.
We had Bacon, egg & sausage for breakfast and I have to say, was great quality and very tasty. Fresh coffee and freshly squeezed orange accompanied. All in all an great experience and great place to stay while visiting the city.
Look forward to meeting you again Eddie

“Very nice host, but needs updating”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

Helen was very nice, and the breakfast was delicious. The room and bathroom were clean, but the bedspreads & curtains need to be changed. They were old enough (and a bit stained) to be offputting. They make the room appear gloomy, when in fact it is a lovely home in a great location ~ but with the current decor, it is almost impossible to remember that.

“A lovely B&B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 January 2012

My husband and I loved staying at the Four Seasons! We were there for two nights and very much enjoyed our visit to Galway. Eddie and Helen are very friendly hosts - we enjoyed chatting with Eddie during our breakfast times! Eddie was wonderful about recommending places and even told us a great route for our morning run.

The rooms are hotel-style (and all ensuite) and very comfortable. A maid comes in to clean the room every morning. It was quiet in the evening and we slept well. Eddie and Helen's breakfasts were great - especially the smoked salmon - and they make great brewed coffee (which is sometimes hard to come by in Ireland!). The dining room is cozy, and they had newspapers and magazines out every morning and fruit available during the day.

The location of the Four Seasons is a huge plus. They are located on College Road, about a ten minute walk from the heart of Galway. It is the perfect location because you are close to everything, but in a more quiet and residential area. We brought a car and were able to park in the driveway in front of the B&B.

We highly recommend this B&B to anyone visiting Galway!

Room Tip: The room we had was very comfortable - it faced away from the street and overlooked the back garden.

“Nice stay but room rather dated”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2011

Eddie was a friendly host without being in your face. He offered some restaurant reccommendations. The room was a little small and I was a bit dismayed when the chambermaid moved my luggage. The carpets and curtains are in need of changing but it was very clean and comfortable with parking and free wi-fi. The location was great and we had everything we needed. We also thought the price was good for Galway. Eddie would cook us whatever we wanted for breakfast. Worth staying, but don't expect luxury.

“Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 November 2011

During our recent trip to Ireland, we stayed at 10 different B & B's, and this was the only one that was a disappointment. Friendly hosts and a good breakfast aside, the room needed a major overhaul. The drapes were filthy and there were many (undetermined) stains on them, as well as on the bedspreads, which had apparently once been nice but were years past this point. The carpet was filthy. The bathroom was tiny and the opening to the shower so small that an overweight person would have a hard getting in and out. This was a family trip with 2 parents and their young adult children (in their 20s) and it was the worst place we stayed, could not even say it had character. It was also one of the most expensive on the trip. Go elsewhere!
