Stayed at the Kingsvalley for a dinner/night out at the Greyhound Track. It cost 11euros each way for a taxi to the track or into town. Room was clean but very small. There was a group of us staying and I saw some of their rooms. Some of the hotel rooms are large and have windows that open to the outside. Other rooms are very small, like the one I was in, where one side of the double bed is against the wall, and the "windows" look into a hallway rather than the outside. The only complaints I had with our room is that we couldn't open any windows and there was no vent/air system to get some air into the room so it was very hot and stale air in the room. Plus, the walls really are very thin, we could hear every conversation being had coming down the hall and even in the neighboring room.
For 70euros you can't have too high of expectations, the room was clean and did the job for the few hours sleep we had there. The next cheapest hotels I could find in Galway were 130 + per night and when you are only there for a couple hours on a night out, the Kingsvalley worked just fine. If there's anyway to reserve one of the nicer big rooms, it would be a lovely place to stay and the breakfast was nice, it was made to order. Plus they have free parking behind the hotel.
