“Beautiful hotel couldn't have asked for a nicer hotel.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012 via mobile

Excellent hotel, clean, great location and friendly staff! Only one down side is the parking, before we left we checked the website about booking parking and but advised us we don't need to do so but on arrival we were greeted by a member of staff to advise us that the parking had all been reserved for guests that had pre booked it so we had to park in the multi story car park next to the hotel but on a plus side we didn't pay full price. Maybe just a update on the website to state this with make every perfect about this hotel.

“Awful hotel - overpriced, uncomfortable and unfriendly”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

I booked the Park House Hotel based off the views that were on here and was sorely disappointed with the service, rooms and overall value when I arrived.

The rooms are too warm and the air conditioning is very noisy. Myself and my fiancé barely slept at all during our trip the hotel was so uncomfortable. The decor is dated and fading, and our bathroom was basic and there was a big build up of limescale on the shower head which was disgusting.

As we booked on a room only basis the hotel does NOT offer their parking facilities and we had to park our car in a public car park the cost of which was advertised as €10 per night. When we checked in the hotel staff said that they'd stamp our ticket which would mean the fee would be subsidized but the parking attendant told us this was not the case and the hotel had done this often leaving him with disgruntled customers. It felt very dishonest and it was worrying having our car in a public car park for the duration of our stay.

I think this hotel may have been recommended by older people travelling from overseas who were looking for something that felt old and dated and traditionally 'Oirish'. It was awful, I would not recommend the hotel to anyone. The location while good is not unlike other hotels in the area.

Room Tip: Steer clear

“Super”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2012

We stayed for 2 nights in the Park house hotel .
Service was fantastic i must say at breakfast and dinner, quality of food was second to none .
Room looked out onto some sort of lock up area or car park was a down side as we had no view but peaceful and quite none the less.
Only down point from me was that we sat in the lounge on second night as we had booked a table for dinner but one of the managers (Lady) wanted to reserve the table and walked up and down to our table making it known (placed reservation sign down beside us on next table),she then went to bar staff and said the 2 at the table no??need to be gone by 6.45,and both stared down at us ,made me unwanted so we left and went to lobby area where we saw her leave 5 min later ,nearly running out the door .
Gentleman on reception was fantastic and all other staff went over and above in service ,so well worth a stay .Warm, friendly and clean.

“Excellent location especially if arriving by train”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

The location is less than a block from the Train station so if you're arriving from Dublin by Train (which I recommend). This is a nice place to stay. You can also rent from Budget about 3 doors down around the corner. However, prebook from Budget online as the cost is a fraction vs. in person.

The location is the greatest asset. Also, the bar downstairs is nice with fresh oysters and a friendly staff. My only knocks on the hotel would be the less than helpful front desk staff and the age of the mattress. Also...if you have special requirement regarding stairs...make sure you talk to the hotel about that in advance. Some floors require going up/down stairs on an individual floor.

I would stay here again.

Room Tip: If you can't handle walking up steps, make sure you talk to the hotel in advance about this issu...

“Lovely stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

We booked the hotel very last minute on an unexpected visit to Galway. Very friendly greeting from reception, parking on site no problem, we could leave our keys! The rooms are lovely, spacious and spotless. Hotel is very central to all amenities. The hotel has an old world charm and elegance, that suits it down to the ground. Would certainly stay on our next visit.
