The location is less than a block from the Train station so if you're arriving from Dublin by Train (which I recommend). This is a nice place to stay. You can also rent from Budget about 3 doors down around the corner. However, prebook from Budget online as the cost is a fraction vs. in person.

The location is the greatest asset. Also, the bar downstairs is nice with fresh oysters and a friendly staff. My only knocks on the hotel would be the less than helpful front desk staff and the age of the mattress. Also...if you have special requirement regarding stairs...make sure you talk to the hotel about that in advance. Some floors require going up/down stairs on an individual floor.

We booked the hotel very last minute on an unexpected visit to Galway. Very friendly greeting from reception, parking on site no problem, we could leave our keys! The rooms are lovely, spacious and spotless. Hotel is very central to all amenities. The hotel has an old world charm and elegance, that suits it down to the ground. Would certainly stay on our next visit.

Well designed high quality room , comfortable bed , pleasant and helpful staff

My husband and I and our 22 month old daughter stayed here in Jan 12. The hotel has a feel that you are at your grandparents house in that the decor seems older but its very nice and very clean. The staff are also very nice and accommodating. We did not eat there but many people (locals) we met highly recommended it to us.
The free wifi and parking cannot be beat. The location is also fantastic and is walking distance to many things. Over all it was a great stay.
