“Basic but fine”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Stayed here for one night as part of a hen party rooms were basic but clean and were fine for what we needed. The only downside of my stay was when we had breakfast the following morning before we had even finished staff were letting us know were we had to pay but what really bugged me was that when we were leaving we were all asked if we paid. Now personally I find this really unprofessional it wasnt as if we were a group of teenagers about to do a runner. I just think customer service skills could do with updating.

Good Morning

You are so kind to post your review and we really appreciate it. We are thrilled that you enjoyed your stay. It bemused me somewhat to find out that you where concerned about being asked to pay for something you received. If you remember correctly the restaurant was closed for breakfast at 11am and I re--opened the restaurant especially for you group until 2pm. And if it was a problem on the day why did you not approach me with your concerns? If like to discuss this further please do not hesitate to contact me. It was our pleasure to have you with us and we very much look forward to welcoming you back again in the future. I will be sure to pass your positive comments to our staff.

Kindest Regards

“Do Not Stay Here!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

I booked two rooms one for me, my partner and son and one for my Mother in law, Father in law and Sister in law. We booked one Non Smoking and one smoking room. On Check in the girl was very polite to me and asked if we required rooms next to each other i said no as my Partners family wanted a smoking room. I was Advised that they would have a smoking room as per what i booked. When i first went to room it looked fine, it was when i took a closer look i could see the room hadn't been hoovered in a good couple of days, i noticed this after i bathed my son and went to lay him on the towel on the floor to dress him. I never reported it to reception on point of finding that carpet hadn't been hoovered as My 1st priority was to get my son to bed after a long day. My Mother in law checked in later on that even and was advised there was no record of her dog being included in the booking, when it clearly stated on the confirmation that i had paid for a dog. My Mother in law was then charged again for the dog by the receptionist. The receptionist then informed them that there was no smoking room available, Ridiculous when thats what we had booked and that i had been informed there was a smoking room for them. The next morning i asked for a manager and was told a Manager would be in at 11am. I waited for a manager to then be told the manager was off, I then asked for a supervisor to then be told there was no supervisor. Very worring to discover no one was running the hotel, I then asked for head offices number to be informed that head office were on their lunch break?? The Receptionist that Morning was called Tomas, His customer Service was Apalling, He had a major attitude problem. He refused to help me, he kept walking away from me, he was making personal calls while he was supposed to be helping with my complaint. I asked for head offices number which he refused to give me. The following day the manager phoned me and informed me he couldn't always be on duty as he run 4 other hotels. He wasn't very helpful and said the rooms were clean, maybe if he was on duty i could have shown him the rooms were not clean. He said he would email me details to make a complaint, its been 5 days and I'm still waiting, so doubt hes going to sent me any details. Do not stay here unless you want to recieve bad customer service and stay in a hotel that there is no manager or supervisor present. I would reccomend Staying at Jameson Court!

“Five Star Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Service
The service at this hotel is excellent. If you have any questions, enquiries or problems, Seamus and his staff will do their utmost to assist. I have never received better service at another hotel.

Location
The Travelodge is ideally situated for the town centre. It took approximately 15 minutes to walk there. You cannot get lost, as the route is on a straight road from the hotel to the town centre. There are also frequent buses running outside.

There is ample free parking in front of the hotel.

Room
My father and I were in a spacious room (by English standards). The room and bathroom were very clean. I was able to get a good night’s rest, as it was very quiet and peaceful.

Food
I enjoyed the Irish breakfast (8 Euros). It was a great start to a busy day. My father was very pleased with the lighter Continental breakfast option (6 Euros).

There are numerous restaurants nearby which can deliver to your room.

Summary
I highly recommend this hotel due to the location and fantastic service.

Good Morning Mr Ryan

It is with much regret that I have respond to you in this manner.

I would like to point out that you booked smoking rooms, but you will be delighted to know that we will have a no smoking policy from the April the 1st 2012. Your comments regarding our Bathrooms is totally ridiculousness. Our bathrooms are larger than most hotel bathrooms and are brand new.

I believe your comments are instigated because we had to speak to you regarding your behaviour in the hotel.

But I will reiterate that I do not accept loutish behaviour in my Hotel. This is will not be accepted in Travelodge Hotels.

If you require and further clarification on this do not hesitate to contact me at he hotel.

Regards,

Seamus McWilliams
