We stayed the weekend of the 11th February, on entering the hotel the foyer is lovely and elegant and to be honest it ends there! Our room felt very "Grubby" there was massive cob webs on the windows, broken lampshades and dusty furniture. Bathroom tiles were stained and the granite in the bathroom was all discoloured with the mirrors only cleaned half way up!!
Breakfast was quite good but everything was self service which ment you were carrying everything to the table, the queue was also very long for breakfast!
Improving on the cleanliness would make a massive improvment on the hotel!
Room Tip: Ask for a ground floor room as it is a long distance from the rooms to the foyer and you need to use...

On behalf of our Team here at the Carlton Hotel Galway City, I wish to thank you for sharing your experience with us following your last stay.
I was disappointed to read that your room was not cleaned to our usual very high standard. I sincerely apologise that this was your experience. Please be assured that I have addressed your feedback with the Team and in particular the Accommodation Manager, to highlight the absolute importance of a consistent level of service throughout the hotel.
As you will see from previous reviews we would usually receive excellent feedback on our cleanliness. We would very gladly have offered you an alternative room had we known of your dissatisfaction, as we are always available meet with our guests and help to make sure that their stay with us is as enjoyable as possible.
Our breakfast is very popular with our guests, as many of our visitors stay with us on a breakfast inclusive packages. Also as our breakfast is served until 11am, as you can imagine, the hour between 10am and 11am can be very busy. We are sorry if there was a queue. We make every effort to ensure that the queue moves as quickly as possible and that the buffet is well stocked throughout the the morning.
We hope that you will consider returning to us at some point in the future as we would be grateful of the opportunity to demonstrate our high standard of service throughout the hotel and also in our bedrooms.
