Good location in regard to travelling to Connemarra district & surrounding areas.B&B within walkable distance to Galway town 10-15 minutes. Also 5-10 minutes from shops- including laundrette- in lower Salthill- a good variety of restaurants for all budgets catered for. Breakfast-Good variety & good quality food served. Dinner- prior booking- was also very good-restaurant quality- we had local irish lamb- delicious. Friendly helpful owner & staff.

“Wonderful B&B, very comfortable!”

Booked room one day in advance during off season (late November). We were met at the door by Sinead, showed to our room and were immediately offered tea and biscuits. Turned out that we were the only guests in the house but you wouldn't have known by the way we we were treated. Great breakfast the next two mornings, short walk into Galway (15 mins.). Highly
recommend this B&B!

“Excellent place to stay in Galway!”

A beautiful bed and breakfast to stay in, St. Judes is lovely both inside and outside. Our room was located on the front of the building, furnished with exquisite antiques, nice bathroom, very comfortable bed, quiet room and excellent breakfast in the morning in a charming dining room. Everything is spotlessly clean. The entire house is filled with wonderful antiques and art. There were nice sitting rooms too to visit with other guests. Although the owners were not overly friendly, this is an excellent place to stay. The building is a wonderful location - we were easily able to walk to restaurants, the water, and downtown. Excellent value.

Room Tip: All the rooms we saw looked very nice, but it was fun having a room looking out on the street.

“FREEZING!”

A mix up in our tour arrangements and we arrived a day late. Tony told us we were in luck and could still stay for 2 nights and would "work something out" for the night they held the room. After getting the bags in the room we asked Tony where we could find a pharmacy since I was under the weather and needed medicine. Got up during the night and found the heat had been turned off. I woke sicker than ever. They turn the heat on for a couple hours in the evening and then off all night. The room was like a meat locker by morning. After a second night of NO heat I was feverish and very ill. I could not shake the chill. It ruined the rest of visit in Ireland. The breakfast was good but nothing special. The room and bathroom were spotless. As we checked out, we were hit with a full charge for the night we missed even though it said it was "discounted". In my early emails w/ Ita she quoted the room prices before she realized we would be using vouchers from a tour. The night we did not stay, they did not have to clean the room, make or change the bed, nor supply breakfast, so a discount from full price would have been appropriate. I would not recommend this place in COLD weather.

We are very disappointed that this guest did not enjoy their stay or advise us, or any other member of the staff, at any stage during their visit that they were cold - both Sinead, our daughter, and myself were at home each evening. If they had done so we would have shown them that each room has an individual heater and instructed them on how to use it, where they needed help in that regard. The clients got their dates wrong and arrived a day late with no phone call or communication on the expected arrival date. We had already advised a discounted rate based on a multi-night stay and that is what we charged. In the circumstances we do not feel it was in any way excessive.
