“Nice hotel, central location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Stayed here for four nights while on business in Galway and can't say I have any complaints about the accommodation. The rooms were clean and had everything you could want already in them, no having to ring down to get anything. The breakfast in the morning was good, plenty of choice and never had to wait to be seated. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food in the bar was good.

Hotel has a great central location, only about 5 minutes walk to the restaurants in Galway and around a 15 minute drive to the place I was working in the morning.

The only complaint I would have is that there was a large student party on my last night which made the hotel very busy and noisy including up in the rooms over the courtyard where I was.

Would definitely stay here again though would definitely ask for a bay side room if there were any big events on.

“Great hotel, Excellent Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

We stay in this Hotel every year after Christmas and sometimes in the summer. The location is perfect right in the city centre. The hotel has excellent facilities , Spa , Swimming Pool, Gym and a great Bar. The Breakfast is outstanding with a fantastic continental selection of cheeses and cold meats. The hotel itself has a fantastic atmosphere and the staff are friendly. The accommodation was great value however the drinks, bar food and spa were way overpriced!

“Very comfortable and good service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

I encountered professional personell, with good customer focus. Example: asking the question if the food was tastefull and your answer is no, with reason, they will just take it of the bill! This is excellent I must say.

Two minus points:
1. Sometimes large groups are having parties in the hotel (students) and they will continue till 3 in the night making noise.
2. It was impossible to stay in the hotel because it was fully booked by a large group (again). This is why they lost me as (long term) business customer.

Room Tip: Bay side room are not having effect on student parties :)

“Would recommend, lovely hotel but food lets it down.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

We stayed here for a wkend break using a special deal with breakfast each morn and one eve meal.

The location is great and very close to eyre square. We checked in on Fri evening around 8.20pm. Reception staff was lovely and very helpful. We had prebooked our meal for 8pm on the fri eve however ran late due to traffic delays but this was not made an issue and the lady on reception rang the restaurant and they still allowed us to take our meal.

We had to choose from a set menu, i had duck leg for starter and my partner had the brie wedges. Service was very quick, and staff were very polite. The starter arrived but i found mine to be very fatty and not overly tasty. My partner said his was ok, but very heavy. I then had grilled salmon and my partner had the chicken main, i would have liked a better dressing or sauce rather than the pesto and pea which was served with the salmon, the salmon had a overwhelming taste but it was lovely and soft on the palatte. I also would have liked the choice of side order, as we were just served roast potatoes and veg, of which the roasties were not great! My partners chicken dish was however tasty. We both had the choc brownie for dessert which was the best part of the meal and was very nice.

We then got our bags and went to our room, it was beautiful, really well decorated and modern. The beds are huge and are extremely comfortable and i didnt hear any noise from adjoining rooms or corridors which was fantastic. There is a big flat screen tv with a great choice of channels. There is ice machines available in the hallway which i liked and wine glasses provided in the rooms. There is also a good proper size hairdryer and ironing board and iron. There is also a safe. Each room has airconditioning and heating which can be adjusted to your needs. We did notice the rug on our bed was dirty this was the only let down in the room, everything else seemed really clean. It would have been nice to have little biscuits to take with your tea and coffee making facilities, and i did notice there was no toilet brush for the loo! Everything else that you needed was there. We didnt have a great view, but because the room was so lovely i didn't mind. Had a very good sleep.

Wifi is provided throughout the hotel and is very quick.

Leisure facilities are excellent, we went down at around 12 on the saturday and it was surprisingly quiet. The pool was just the right temperature not too hot or cold, and there is an indoor and outdoor jacuzzi and also steam and sauna. It really is lovely in the outdoor jacuzzi, i could have spent all day there. There are hairdryers and straightening irons in the chaning rooms which is also good. Towels are provided which is handy.

Breakfasts in the mornings was very poor, however there was a vast choice of food on offer, cereals pastries fruit or fry. My partner did say that the fruit and yogart was nice, but i had the fry each morning and found it to be bland and tasteless. The tea had a scum to it, which i assume is from hard water? but still it wasn't what i would expect from this rating of a hotel.

I liked the fact that you dont have to check out until 12 noon, however we did check out before this and the check out again was very swift and staff member was very nice.

Car parking is charged at ten euro for the two nights, which i would have preffered to have been free, however there are limited spaces so i assume this is why they charge?

Overall i was very happy with my stay and there is a very relaxing feel to the place. I would definately stay again and would recommend to my friends and family.

Room Tip: Rooms are lovely so view didn't really matter, but we will ask for a view over the lough if we s...

“Once again a wonderful stay...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

Thanks to the staff of this hotel for making my stay so wonderful. I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions and the experience in itself could not be improved. The actual hotel facilities have been improving and extending turning the hotel complex almost into a village of its own. I totally enjoy staying at this hotel time and again.l
