My wife and I stayed for 3 Nights DBB. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful and could not be faulted, and we enjoyed the pool. However the big let down was the dinner. The menu was restricted and the choice limited. The quality of starter other than the soup was poor, and while the meat dishes were ok the remaining choices was not up to the expected standard. While there was a good crowd at breakfast, the number having dinner was in single figures, I think that speaks for itself. If you are planning a few days away in the Galway Bay, I recommend that you go for B & B and make your own arrangements for the evening meal.

Dear ‘Mayo150’,
Thank you most sincerely for choosing to stay here in the Galway Bay Hotel on your recent trip to Galway and thank you also for your valued feedback. I am delighted that you enjoyed your time here.
Your positive comments regarding the very friendly staff, the bedrooms and the bed are all very encouraging. You are quite right to mention the beds as they receive super feedback regularly. In fact, some guests have it mentioned that it is like sleeping on a cloud!
Thank you for your feedback regarding our dinner menu in our Lobster Pot Restaurant. On behalf of all on the Kitchen team and indeed myself I would like to apologise most sincerely as it seems that your dinner experience did not live up to our usual very high dining experience standards. The general feedback we receive regarding the food and menu quality is consistently very good. Coincidently, we are in the process of launching our new spring time menu in the Lobster Pot Restaurant with over ten choices of starter and the same amount of main course dishes. Thankfully, in the recent past the Lobster Pot Restaurant has been the recipient of some very prestigious awards including AA rosettes, and most recently in 2011 this restaurant received the ‘Best Dining Experience in Ireland’ award along with ‘Best Dinner in Ireland’ award. Also, the Lobster Pot is a very busy restaurant serving an average of 155 guests per night. Obviously, January is a quieter time than normal serving an average of 67 guests each night.
We look forward to hopefully welcoming you back to the Galway Bay Hotel in the future and if I can be of any assistance at any time, please do not hesitate to contact me personally at dmurphy@galwaybayhotel.com
Sincere regards,
Dan Murphy
