“Not Recommended at all!!!!”

We stayed there for one night and i have to say we were very dissapointed. Normally if we stay in Galway we stay in a hotel but i thought we would give our custom to a local B&B. This B&B is not a good advertisement. I could not find the Bistro or Wine Bar which was advertised when i booked on line, because it is not there. No Kettle in the room, no milk, no hairdryer. Toiletries which were advertised consisted of two small bars of soap. Carpet in the bathroom had cigarette burns. Cheap matts on the floor covering more stains.

The lady serving the breakfast was very nice but the same cannot be said for the Breakfast itself. We were served cheap sausages, one rasher, A HALF of a small mushroom which i couldnt see the point of even putting it on the plate, an egg and a small pot of cold beans. the butter even tasted off!! This very bad experience cost me €80 for 1 adult and two children. I paid on arrival and after i had actually left Galway i recieved a call to ask if i was going to settle the bill.!!!.

Room Tip: Room in another B&B

“Try Elsewhere First”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 October 2011

Arrived late Saturday afternoon in Galway after a long drive, tried a couple of the B & B close by and there are a few ,2 next door and a couple across the street but unfortunately they were all booked out. They suggested I try this Mannor house as they had lots of rooms (we were in 30 something)
Managed to get a room with all the usual tea/coffee making facilities but no Kettle to boil water so I requested one . The hosts indicated that they would try to locate one for me but said they would make us coffee and bring it to the room.(which was a nice touch). This was OK for the afternoon but went out for tea and when we returned I ask again for a kettle but they said they could not locate one but we could come down at anytime and they would make Tea/Coffee for us. This is not idael when you wake up in the morning as you don't want to walk down in your PJ's.Also the light did not work in the hallway and no attempt was made to put in a new globe. There was not much room for the suitcases in the room either. Even though the host tried to make things as nice as possible I would suggest if you are travelling to Galway on a Saturday try and book one of the other B & B's in Forster street first as these are all 5 minutes from town and there are quite a few to choose from.

Room Tip: Try the other B & B's first in the street.

“Dont stay here”

We checked in and received a friendly welcome. We were then led to our room which was in an annexe and actually another house behind main building. The door of room opened and my first impression was a very small room inside with a very ugly 80's style duvet on the bed. The room was so small and no room for our things. The bathroom was in my opinion unhygienic, a disgusting blistered ancient toilet seat full of marks and the toilet fixtures wobbled, but worse the bath had grey scum on the sides not been cleaned and was in need of total refurbish. i felt unclean there and didnt feel the shower was going to solve the problem either it was quite disgusting. I just didnt bother felt cleaner not washing in there.
The breakfast i thought was poor quality not much of it- personally after seeing the filthy state of bathroom the idea of having a breakfast cooked at this place was just not for me so i had to pass it up.

I also noticed windows didnt fit in to the frames properly, lightbulbs were missing or broken, bed awful, and a terrible rundown general feeling. Carpets all worn inside and i did wonder how safe the building actually was.
Also had little sleep due to excessive noise and banging doors by noisy people coming in all night, it was unpleasant listening to them shouting and disturbance made me bit uneasy.

It cost 60 euros a night for this which was a rip off price and i felt it was wrong selling such low quality rooms at this sort of price.

The staff were friendly enough and location good but think seriously about staying as plenty of other places for same price and will definitly be better than this!!!

The worse experience ever..please read all previous negative reviews as they are completely accurate. We were placed in a damp outhouse out the back with no heating, dirty bed linen and curtains falling down. After complaining we got moved to the main house.Room slightly better. However carpets disgusting. stains on carpet covered by a mat. Window did not close properly resulting in a draft. flies in the bathroom. No bulbs in bedside light. A truly horrifying experience. Bord Failte need to inspect this premises. Heath annd Safety Risk STAY AWAY!
