I stayed here with a friend on a B&B deal that Lidl were running. I thought the hotel was great. The staff were very professional and friendly and very accommodating.
The room was clean and comfortable, a little bit too warm but they have a notice saying you can turn the heat down. I should have turned it off as 3 was still too warm.
Our room was on the 1st floor and you could hear the noise from the bar but that didn't bother us at all as we were out until late and it was all quiet when we got back. But if you're an early to bed person you might want to ask for a 2nd floor room.
The breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. It was a buffet with all the usual stuff... sausages, rashers, tomatoes, mushrooms or cereals, scones, fruit etc. You could also order from a menu with smoked salmon, different kind of eggs, pancakes etc. The only bad point would be that the bread rolls were too tough to eat but the brown bread was nice.
All in all, a pleasant stay, just close enough to the city.
I would stay here again.
Room Tip: The heating goes up to 5. Turn it right down to 1 or 0 as it's very warm still on 3.

Thank you very much for your posting. it is good to hear that you would stay with us again.
We do get a lot of good comments about our Omelettes and pancakes and our gluten free foods.. So pleased you enjoyed your breakfast.. We have music in the Bar every Friday and Saturday from 10.30 - 12.30 a.m. and some of the rooms are over the bar so if you want a quieter room, you are quite right, it is better to ask for a 2nd floor room to the front of the hotel.
We are also working on getting some new boilers bedded in properly as we have been having issues with the regulators on them.
Thanks again....
