“Nice room, very quiet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 January 2012

Stayed here after a Christmas party night in Galway city. We had a twin room which was nice. I managed to sleep very well which was surprising considering it was one of the busiest nights of the year in Galway city. The staff at the front desk were fine if a little curt. I did enjoy a mulled wine in the lobby before I went out so that was a nice treat. I would recommend the hotel as it is in a good location and the rooms are clean and reasonably priced.

“Girls city break”

Enjoyed a lovely break on 6th Jan here with my daughter and her friend.
From beginning to end we enjoyed the hospitality of the Harbour Hotel
A warm welcome, very comfortable room, wifi facilities, top class food and service, taxi arranged for evening cinema trip and car parking facilities.. continuing after check out allowing us to have a base while we shopped. .Only a few minutes walk into Eyre Square.
Every member of staff seemed totally happy in their work and even when chatting to each other the mood was jolly and very cordial. Didn't use the leisure facilities so cannot comment this time.

“excellent”

Stayed at the Harbour Hotel from the 27th Dec till the 30th and from the time we arrived i had everything good to say about it. We were greeted by friendly staff at Reception. Checking in went smooth, We were given a lovely warm room to the front of Hotel. From reading other reviews there seemed to be a problem with noise . This we didnt find at all as the windows had sound proof shutters over the glass.
Food was excellent we ate in the Restaurant that night we arrived, while the service was a little slow the food was good,
This hotel is 5mins walk from Shop Street which is very convenient.
The Bar was very quiet as most people go into town, we found it to be a little overpriced, and as the night went on . when the night porter came on it got more expensive we discovered from our bill. we enjoyed our stay and will go back

“Lovely Lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

We had a very nice lunch at the Harbour Hotel today. The food and service was very good and all at great value. The portions were very generous which was wasted on us as we just could not finish all the food. Looking forward to their new Sunday Lunch offering which I saw advertised as commencing in mid January with kids eating free and music by resident pianist.

“There are better places in Galway”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 January 2012

It takes a lot for me to write a review on something so it's with regret (at my own decision to book accomodation here) that I write this. Booked in for the weekend as I was down for the comedy festival, I travel to Galway a lot but had never stayed here.

Paid (a small amount) to upgrade the view of the room which turned out to be a view of the carpark so kept the curtains closed the entire time. Could hear eeeeeverything going on in the bedroom across the hall. Rooms themselves the smallest I've seen in any hotel/private room in a hostel.

One of the staff (Christine/Christina) was excellent, the rest left a lot to be desired. Had to call attention to myself checking in/checking out/ordering breakfast. Breakfast itself was ordinary.

When you've checked out there's an automatic email that asks for feedback, which I gave and never received a response.

I stay in a lot of different places because of work and have had worse customer service, worse rooms and worse food, yet it's the apathy of the place that I find most galling.

Room Tip: Don't bother upgrading.
