We stayed for a 3 night break in early January. From the moment we arrived we were made feel very welcome by the receptionist on duty. We had booked a superior room and the room we got was large, clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. Breakfast, cold food from buffet or hot from the kitchen, was good but not exceptional. We had dinner in the restaurant on one evening, again the food was nice but nothing special. Restaurant staff were very helpful and pleasant on every occasion. Overall we had a pleasant and enjoyable stay.
The hotel is well located both for access to Galway City and for easy access to Connemara with convenient free parking in the grounds.
There were a few minor irritants which the hotel might address:-
1. My wife asked for natural yougurt at breakfast on the first day (listed on the menu) but they had none. They had none on days two or three either
2. We wanted to watch RTE 2 television on our first evening - it wasn't available. It still wasn't available when we were leaving.
3. While the hotel has lots of sitting space for guests, most spaces were too cold to sit in when we were there. Only the Bar was warm but it appeared to have sky sports on 24x7
