“15th. Century surroundings to enjoy your coffe or lunch in!”
Lynchs Cafe is directly opposite Lynchs Castle which is now home to a bank. For as long as I can remember there has been a restaurant in this building, and it is a very pleasant place to go for a coffee or inexpensive lunch. It is situated on the first floor of the building, with stairs access from Shop Street. Once you're up those stairs, the carvery or hot meal counter is to your left, and the tea/coffee counter to your right. In recent years an outdoor area has become available to facilitate the smokers still among us! There is a lot of charm here, with original features from the 15th. Century in the form of stone windows and marriage stones, reflecting the full glory of the castle across the way. If you get a table overlooking the street, you can watch the busy bustle going on below. All the staff are most helpful and polite, especially the orginal Galwegians! Cost is reasonable and I've always found the food to be of good quality.
