Rooms aren't as they look in the pictures. Our room was tiny and the ensuite was so small it could barely fit the shower and toilet. The sink was in the room at the bottom of the bed. The door to the room would stick everytime it was opened and would need to be pushed really hard to close again. Decor needs to be updated. Won't be staying there in the future.

This was a very friendly hotel with staff who could not do enough to make our stay really good. The rooms were clean and comfortable and were freshened up each day so we felt as if we were new arrivals. any queries were dealt with efficiently and quickly. The music on Wednesday night was absolutely great, and the bar was very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was relaxed, unhurried and very tasty. the irish breakfast was good, so were the kippers and the bacon and eggs. My son asked for things not mentioned int he menu - but the staff were happy to oblige. We had a fantastic stay. For comfort and friendliness, I would rate this as second to none.

After 12 hours of traveling we arrived at the hotel just before midnight only to be told our room has been doublebooked. The guy working at the reception was also the bartender at the pub so we had to wait for 20 minutes for him while he served the drinks. The hotel is old and smells terrible and the pub was full of the drunk local people! The positive thing was that the guy at the reception found us another hotel which at the end turned out to be quite nicer hotel. Do not trust the pictures as it is nothing like the hotel!!! Avoid at all cost!

very clean nice comfortable big rooms, its old enough so its not going to look ultra modern but they make the effort with new looking bed clothes etc warm rooms, decent size, lovely breakfast, staff very nice, did i mention clean? alot cleaner than some 4*s i have stayed in! Great bar too! Cheap drinks in the bar, can drink away all night there. cheap.very nice didnt expect it at all from a 1* much more like an Inn or Guesthouse. bar food good. parking close to salthill beach etc
