I just returned from a week of biking across the Connemara/Galway region of Ireland and, after sampling several different B & Bs and hotels during my trip, felt compelled to write about Neisha's B & B in Galway. I'm a long-time visitor to Trip Advisor and this is my first posting.

The proprietor, Yvonne Barrett, made the two-night stay memorable because of her warm Irish hospitality. The bike company we used --Irish Cycling Safari--erred in making the reservation for me and my traveling companion (I'll leave that for another post.) But Yvonne's lovely and engaging manner and warm hospitality was one of the most memorable points of a the trip.

Her home is fairly standard but the rooms are very clean and neat, and she is very accomodating. The majority of the rooms, save two, feature their own bathroom which is key for me. But it's not really the rooms that made my stay special but Yvonne's personality and hospitality.

She is located very near the Cathedral, College and Hospital and only a 10 minute or so walk from the main streets of Galway. She was always quick with a recommendation that was spot on--whether it was where to find authentic Irish music, traditional meals or gifts for my 6-year old niece or even just a spot of tea after a rainy and unseasonably cool week. She was quick with a story to lift our spirits when the weather turned sour.

Her breakfasts are also good yet standard for Irish B & Bs: In addition to the full Irish breakfast option, she offers porridge (oatmeal) as well as a nice spread of cold choices (cereals, fruits, etc)

I stayed at several B & Bs across the Western region of Ireland. While they all were fine, none featured a lady of the house that was as friendly, warm and delightful as Yvonne. And I'm not the only one who felt this way--everyone from my biking group as well as a couple from England all agreed with me that Yvonne made our stay comfortable and memorable.

I'm glad my last night in Galway was spent at Neisha's B & B. It was a great end to my trip.
