I recently stayed at this hotel to meet up with family from Kerry. We had a great time, service, food and rooms were very good. The views amazing from our sea view rooms. I left my mobile phone charger in the bedroom. Did not discover until I returned home, The receptionist was very helpful and I received my phone in the post a few days later. Thank you so much. Anne from Co Derry

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view

“Very enjoyable stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

My husband and I have just returned from a night in this hotel and we had a wonderful stay. We arrived at 4pm and were very impressed with the decor and ambience of the hotel. There's a real old world feel about it but it's very clean and modern, if you know what I mean! We had a voucher for the nights stay, which was a christmas present from my sister, and it included a free room upgrade, subject to availability. On entering our room we were dissapointed that it wasn't a sea view, though the room itself was lovely, if not a bit dark as the view was straight out to another building. We rang down to reception to ask if there was another room available and they was no sea views left but they offered us a junior suite instead. Oh my god - what a room! It was huge. Beautiful high ceilings and chandeliers. We would never be able to afford to stay in a room like this so to have a glimpse of how the other half live was just fab! We had left our 3 children with my sister for this precious night away and it was just amazing. The staff were really nice and helpful and always had a smile for you. We ate in the bar in the evening as my husband was mad to see the rugby match and the food was lovely. We found the bar staff to be most helpful and the service was very good. The breakfast was very good too, with a good selection of fruit, juices, cereals and hot food buffet. I visited the spa while I was there and had a wonderful massage from a girl called Patricia and it was really good. I had some serious knots in my shoulders which she sorted out for me, without hurting! The hydrotherapy room and floating beds were a particular favourite. The hotel is very well situated and we went for a lovely walk along the pier and there was a lovely market where we browsed and then sat with a coffee. We will definitely stay in this hotel again and would highly recommend it to our friends.

“1st day of the rest of my life......”

My wife and I came to the Royal Marine to celebrate her ill health retirement. Staff are great, good location. Shared my reason for being here - hoping for a free upgrade....so much for those sites that tell you how to get an upgrade. Oh well, we have the sea view from the corridor!!! Very little time for disappointment, as the room was superb! Room? No suite. Delighted. That pool was super, but that hydro was in my wife's words just what the doctor ordered. we have been in many a so-called hydro pool but this one hits all the spots and the staff at the spa are really lovely and friendly.

Went for our first inclusive meal - Table d'hote menu which had plenty of choice and the meal was excellent and great value.

So far so great - 2 more days to go.

Review written because of free and easily accessible wi-fi.

“Relaxing hotel overlooking the bay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Very nice hotel as well as restaurant/bar facilities. Good prices, tasty food, good variety. Breakfast was fresh and excellent. Hotel stuff very nice, and helpful.
Room was nice and comfortable. Good selection of TV channels. Free internet connection but you need to have a laptop as there is no wifi in the room. You need to go downstairs to the lobby to get wifi. What I didn’t like was the air-con which was quite noisy making impossible to sleep at night. Every evening I had to turn the air-con off.
Gym small but you’ll have everything to run your training. Pool and Jacuzzi clean and nice but steam and sauna was looking old and used also smell there wasn’t ‘relaxing’...
Great connection to the city centre (dart station nearby) and the airport (aircoach stops at the doorstep)
Overall experience good and I can recommend this hotel. Well I’m back there next week ..
