Good location if you don't want to stay in Dublin. 5 minute walk to DART. Best breakfast. DO NOT stay stay on ground floor, floor squeeks terribly and you will hear every move upstairs. Did not have hot water before breakfast.

My boyfriend and I spent Christmas and New year in Ireland and generally had a wonderful time staying in B&B's and one budget hotel.But I want to say by far the best place was Lissadell b&b,fresh breakfast menu,(french toast and brie cheese)was amazing.8 differant varieties of fruit and salmon,bagels,parma ham omellettes etc,just fantastic.We were able to use our lap top in our room with the free wifi service available.
New year's eve we had great "craic" in Dalkey village beautiful village and walked home afterwards.In the morning we walked 5 mins to local dart station and whisked into the city centre.
The room was cozy, warm and clean,nicely furnished.Location of house was not in the town centre but Dalkey is far nicer than Dun Laoghaire and Sandycove beach is a short walk from Lissadell also.We could park our car off the street securely.John the owner looked after us very well and took the time to recommend the local bars and restaurants.
Looking forward to our return trip to Lissadell.

My husband & I stayed at the Lissadell over the Christmas holidays and were quite impressed. This was quite a value for the bargain price we payed. We had a charming bedroom and very tasty Irish breakfasts in the mornings. (Christmas Eve & Christmas day, understandably, the owners set out continental spreads.) The common area in the house was quite nice, especially since it was decorated tastefully for Christmas. We used public transportation for all our Dublin touring & the Lissadell is just a few blocks from the Glenageary DART station.

We stayed at this B & B for 2 nights of our 8 day/7 night tour of Ireland. It was by far the best experience of all the guest houses we stayed in. The innkeepers were absolutely wonderful and helpful in every aspect. The breakfast was great too! Dublin was a quick 20 minute train ride up the coast. We hope to return in a couple of years to spend a full week in the Dublin area and we'll definitely be staying at this guest house.
