“Not a penthouse or hig quality”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 September 2009

We booked the apartment on the internet knowing that it was located in the middle of Temple Bar and would be in the noisy and busy area. However we thought being a penthouse we would be well above the noise with views over Dublin. How wrong we were. The bedrooms were one storey above ground level with paper thin windows. You could hear conversations between people sitting at the cafe across the road! On top of the expected nightlife noise we also had to contend with bin ben wagons repeatedly coming past with flashing lights and the noise of empty bottles and cans. The noise was slightly quieter in the second floor living area so had this been a proper penthouse the noise would have been bearable.

On top of the misleading location the apartment was also dirty. We ended up buying our own cleaning products to clean the surfaces and floors as they were sticky and grubby. There were no lights in the kitchen, empty bear bottles and stubs left out side the back bedroom, make up smeared all over the window and rips in the settee.

There is also a distinct lack of storage, one wardrobe in the front double bedroom which blocks the one and only window, a set of draws in the single bedroom, where the bed is also like sleeping on a park bench it is that hard.

I have emailed StayDublin about out stay but have yet to hear anything back from them. Would only recoomend if you dont mind only having 4 hours sleep tops per night and a bad back!

“Great Location - Just noisy”

The apartments itself is large and spacious with a roof top area which is great on a fine day, although there are no chairs to sit in the sun upon. Its not situated in an apartment block and you enter straight of the street in the middle of Temple Bar. Great location but really noisy if you are sleeping in the 2 front bedrooms with the drunks walking home after midnight. Has everything you need including a really well equiped kitchen. We stayed with a 2 year old and the only real problem was the 2 flights of stairs and no stair barrier. Its amazing what you can do with suitcases.

“little bit tired”

We had a fantastic time, we stayed at the temple bar loft appartments for our 2 night stay in March 2008.There were 7 females in total the appartment had a fantastic location right in the centre of the temple bar area with all the bars/clubs on your doorstep, it was lovely and spacious but did look a bit tired and in desperate need of a lick of paint. During our stay we had a few minor problems with the central heating system, but the staff were brilliant they were on hand to answer queries which were dealt with within minutes of us phoning them. I think once the appartment has been spruced up which i believe is taking place soon we would definately return. We Loved, Loved, Dublin

“Fantastic”

Loved it!
You couldn't ask for a better place to stay! We shopped around for hotels and in the end I gave up on looking. I did a search for apartments in Dublin and I found StayDublin.com and found the Temple Bar Apartment. We paid £700 for 6 people for 4 nights (Thurs - Mon) which is reasonable for the location. The apartment is smack bang in the middle of everything, it was clean, had everything we needed and in a prime location. We will definitely be back! To be fair the photos on the website don't really do the place justice, with three decent sized bedrooms on the first floor a huge bathroom with bath and shower. Then on the second floor a huge living area with plenty of room for everyone and all the amenities you need!
