Ok, first let me start by saying I'd read the reviews and got a tad panicky as I was travelling with my husband for his 30th birthday weekend and our friends, however, I like to make up my own mind so figured I would check them out anyway.
We arrived at the apartments and I have to say 'thank god' we weren't staying in the hotel, the receptionist was totally clueless! We were handed our keys and directed to the apartments at the back of the hotel. There is no lift and the 2 x bed apts are at the top so expect a few flights of stairs. When we got into the apartment I was quite shocked at the size, we had a penthouse 2 storey apartment, living quarters upstairs and bedrooms downstairs. For 'health & safety' reasons we weren't allowed the key to the balcony, maybe they've had a few jumpers ;-), however the apartment itself was more than we'd expected. If only they spent a little time on them all. We managed to see 3 other apartments because the rooms weren't exactly what we asked for and a light fitting was hanging off the wall but we did have the biggest of all the 2 beds so stuck with what we had.
One thing, I wouldn't recommend these apartments to families if you intend to go out after dark, the taxi driver told us some pretty horrifying stories about the area, it's about a 15 minute walk to Temple Bar/O'Connell Bridge and I certainly wouldn't want to take my daughter there now I know.
The kitchens are fully equipped with everything you would need self catering and the bathrooms are nice marble wetrooms as stated, but if you're larger than a 10 yr old you may benefit from taking a decent size bath towel.
Amenities are all accessible and taxi's are available on the road at all hours.
We had quite a nice stay to be honest, Dublin is a great city (although unbelievably expensive) and the Irish are really friendly and accomodating.
