“Cheap and Cheerful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

We stayed here in November on a groupon deal and were very happy with the hotel for the price we paid. The room was new and spotless and the bed was very comfortable. The only negative is the location, we had a view of the motorway, but were fully aware that this would be the case beforehand and it didn't bother us in the least. Breakfast was nice and there was a big choice. The staff were also very helpful.

“Good groupon deal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

Bought one night b&b stay for £37 euros. On arrival thought hotel was very clean. Checked in by the general manager Niamh, who was very helpful. Room was very clean, nothing to complain about. Hotel does not have its own bar and restaurant, but at the foot of the road near it is a grill bar. Staff here were friendly. Food is average. I had fish which tasted off, and they were kind enough to exchange it for another meal without any quibble which was fair enough.
Breakfast in maldron is basic, you have to serve yourself. However it is fine. All in all for the money we paid for the deal, we were happy. Not much to do near the hotel but would go back if we got another deal. Need a car to get around. Thank you Niamh and staff for your hospitality.

“noisy bathroom and heating”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 January 2012

Staff were lovely, breafast was perfect. Room was spotless. My only problems were the noise coming from the bathroom, the door was a slide one and very cheap so I could still hear. Also the heating made a loud hummm. Our electricty tripped everytime we left the room.

“Beautiful hotel, but do not book if you haven't got a car.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

The Hotel and staff are amazing, comfortable bed and large room. However, for a city break it is only suitable if you have got or plan to hire a car. Unless you don't mind to spend 45minutes bus ride from the city centre or have a long walk (20min) to the nearest Lua station. Unfortunately, I had to check out earlier than expected as Thought the hotel was away too far but again the hotel itself is good and you can find a good deal through bookings.com. If you don't mind the distance, totally recommend it but if you do... don't think twice, book a hotel in the city.

“Cheap as chips but not great at all..”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2011 via mobile

Got a groupon deal €40 incl breakfast, rooms spacious but very basic, bed was only a lumpy double and pillows were brutal I actually detected a smell of "old man greasy head" from them, ugh... Also the room was quite chilly I know the night in question was cold, but that shouldn't matter.

Bathrooms super dated and basic.

Hotel is in a fairly bad location, nothing around without driving a few miles, went to the bar which is supposed to be in the hotel but strangely enough you have to go outside to go into into it..
Bar man friendly enough, food served quickly too but there were lots of drunk people in the bar (bear in mind it's 5.30pm) and a couple older than my parents snogging the face off each other, put me off my meal!

Breakfast fairly minimal, I won't be returning!!

Dear Jaybee27,

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us on Trip Advisor. Our guest feedback is really important to us as it helps us to constantly review our standards and procedures, and to make improvements where necessary.

I am disappointed to see you did not enjoy your overall experience with us, and I am anxious to speak with you direct, so I may take steps to ensure another guest does not have a similar experience.

The Grill Room in Kingswood House is an indepently run operation and as such is not part of the hotel.

I look forward to speaking with you and thank you again for taking the time to write a review.

Regards,

Niamh
