“Good position, but noisy!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2012

My husband and I just had a nice weekend in Dublin, we chose this guesthouse for price and good reviews. Actually the room was very nice and spacious, both room and bathroom were very clean. Location amazing, close to bus station and shopping district, walking distance to Temple Bar. Downsides: we had a room facing the street, so noise all night! the window was so old that could not keep the noise out. The structure is very old and there is no isolation at all, when the guys in room above us were walking you could feel the walls and the windows literally trembling! No elevator, so be prepared to do some stairs. Breakfast was not really worth, no choice for continental breakfast and the Irish one was really average (bins from tin).
If it was cheaper I would stay again, but not 70euro per night!

Room Tip: Ask for room that face the garden if possible.

“Great location”

The room was clean, shower was great. But no where to put anything. Great for the bus to and from airport and walking distance from main attractions. The breakfast was rather over sold. Not quite as advertised. A good window cleaner would make a fortune. For location would recommend.

“City centre hotel, close to bus and rail station”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 September 2011

Stayed there for three nights.
Noise was not a problem. Asked for a quite room in advance and got one.
Booked through booking.com for € 38 per night.
Right in city centre.
Polite, helpful management.
Small rooms with TV...but only went to sleep there at night.
Will I come here again...Yes.
People who moan should go for hotels near The Point which charge 150-200 per night.
This is a budget hotel and a decent one at that.

Room Tip: Ask in advance for a quite room in the 2nd building at the back.

“Not good at all”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 August 2011

We have been welcomed by a very kind woman at the reception, she was the only positive thing during our stay.
Sound-proof room? not at all! High Definition Audio will be much more appropriate to say , you will much appreciate your tv when you next door neighbor will spend their nights having arguments all night long.
And the smell of he room made our sleep (together with the noisy neighbors) impossible!
The breakfast is surprisingly good.

“Decent hotel, good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 July 2011

Been working in Dublin for the last few months, and while living in a house with 4 co-workers, I decided to stay at a hotel when my girlfriend came over for a visit from Oslo.

Read a few "not so good" reviews about The Glenn Guesthouse, but as almost everything else in town was booked this weekend due to a couple of Take That concerts, we ended up here, and got an outrageous price from booking.com.

Got a room in the building in the backyard belonging to the hotel, so didn't hear anything from the street or from any of the neighbors. The room itself was quite typical, with a large nice bed, water boiler with coffee and tea, a small TV etc. The bathroom was perfectly all right. and the room had a pretty large balcony. Unfortunately without any balcony furniture.

The staff was as helpful as one could ask for, and they even took €100 euro of the bill when i checked in, as they had gotten a cancellation of another room. So the price went from outrageous, to just pretty expensive.

We didn't get to test the breakfast, as we slept in almost every morning. This place is pretty close to a handful of really good bars :)

Room Tip: Ask for room in the newer building in the backyard.
