“Value for the money, be prepare to walk”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 October 2010

This is not a standard hotel but a management training facility offering also rooms. Reception desk is open 24/7 which is very usefull. Breakfast is of good quality but with very limited selection and same every morning. Rooms are nice and clean, but the facility is pretty old and needs refreshemnt.
Hotel is located on a really quiet place and eventhough it was full we never heard the neighbours.
Not to be missed: hotel is walking distance from Luas 20minutes uphill and 15 to the Luas or biiig Dundrum Shopping Centre. In the centre beside shopping also available great food and bars.

“Fantastic value if you dont mind the location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2010

The rooms were good size, good amenities including gym, quiet location, if you dont mind the 20 minute walk to Dundrum, value for dollar you could not look past this property. Adequate breakfast, lift.

“Value for money with mountain views...”

Stayed with friends when we went to a concert in Croke Park recently.
Would agree with the previous review - the hotel does look like an institution of sorts but it is modern architecture after all and the bright spacious rooms more than make up for the harsh exterior...
The hotel is a bit out from the city centre (22 euro each way for a taxi for three people took about 20/25 minutes, luckily the staff had told us to haggle) but is a short distance to Dundrum Town Centre and M50 (get off at Junction 13). Would be ideal for a shopping trip...
Rooms (and the hotel in general) were clean, comfortable and basic (no hairdryer and only one pillow per bed), breakfast was continental & help yourself. The hotel was completely booked out the night we stayed there but we didn't hear many noises, which is unusual for a budget hotel.
Would definitely stay here again if I was going to Dublin and needed a quiet place to stay - it has a long driveway and is some distance from the main road with ample parking.

“Know what you're getting”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 June 2010

As others have said, the IMI is not a hotel, it's an upmarket student hall of residence. You get pretty much what you had in college, with a more comfortable bed, a nice ensuite bathroom, and a reliable internet connection the only significant differences. If you're looking for amenities beyond these, you won't find them here. The location is quite unsuitable for anybody without a car: eight miles from the city centre in one of the southeastern residential suburbs. It's a brisk 25-minute walk (if you're unencumbered by luggage) from the nearest Luas (tram) station; and although the no. 44 'bus from the city centre drops you within a couple of hundred metres, the service is infrequent. If those limitations aren't a problem for you, though, you get a clean, quiet room and a basic but perfectly adequate breakfast for perhaps half the price of what you can expect to pay elsewhere in Greater Dublin for comparable accommodation.

“Inconvenient Location, Great Price. Overall OK”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 May 2010

If budget is your first priority, this may be your place. I paid approximately $40.00/night on a stay 3 nights/pay for 2 plan in May '10. I took a cab from the airport , 40 minutes($60.00), but on return, hopped on the LUAS to St Stephens Green to bus to airport 70 minutes ($12.00).
IMI is a no frills residential hotel set up mainly for people taking the Irish Management Institute management course, but used by travelers also. Its clean...except for the badly stained industrial carpets. Sheets will not be changed daily, but obviously used towels will be. Shower is powerful and hot. Lighting is somewhat dim. there are only about 7 TV channels. Free wifi. Cold breakfast includes cereals, juice, yogurt ,cheese, ham, toast. Very quiet suburban location. About a 15 minute walk to the Luas train and the large Dondrummon Mall. Overall I probably would not go back, but if budget is your main goal...don't be afraid to book here.
