I stayed here four nights. On the positive side the rooms were not too small and were cleaned every day. The building has a lovely aspect and is light and airy. On the negative the carpets were very dirty and need more than a clean with water. The front desk is virtually unmanned after 11pm and several times my family tried to phone and could not get through. And lastly, as other guests have commented upon, the breakfast is really terrible and the only place the staff were unfriendly.
I have noticed that the Manager of the Hotel has replied to each review, which is great. But whhy then has he not taken guests comments to heart and changed the food and service? It is VERY poor. Gloopy custard yogourts, terrible coffee, a toaster that no-one knew how to use and I had to help three other guests retrieve their toast! Supply live yogourt, good bread, skimmed milk, non-processed plastic wrapped cheese and ham that is not cut in little squares as it dries out too quickly. This would be an easy change to effect. Last sunday there was a litre of orange juice, a litre of apple juice and a two litre plastic bottle of milk left for clients to use. None of them were even put in to a jug. The staff generally were very helpful and it is a shame that with just a little thought the place could be so much better.
