“Dated 'apartment'”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2007

The rooms are described as 'apartments' but the kitchen facilities consisted of a cupboard (yes a cupboard!) with a sink inside, kettle,
basic cutlery, a few plates, mini-fridge (a bit old looking) and microwave. The room itself felt dated (bits of wallpaper coming off!), but was a decent size. Small tv in corner of room. On both Fri & Sat nights I could hear a party going on , I think from the building next door, which was irritating. Location wise, 10mins walk to Grafton Street (St Stephen's Green end), and 30mins to train station (long walk if you have luggage). Overall I would not recommend this hotel though it is relatively cheap.

“Fair but shabby & none too clean...mice?...”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 April 2007

This was a convenient location and did take notice of my request for a quiet room, but the apartment I had stank of mice!
The rooms were a bit dirty, the duvet cover had recent stains (!?) a bit unsavoury-although there were crisp white sheets etc it put me off.
There are facilities to cook if you want to & some tea, coffee etc.I ate in the Thai place next door which was only just satisfactory, empty, dark & expensive.I ordered a seafood Thai salad which came swimming in disgusting pink sauce- I left it but was offered no refund.
All a bit depressing & if I was to stay again I'd go back to Jurys-functional but clean, modern & no mice!

“Shabby Georgian”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 April 2007

A tired, somewhat shabby hotel on noisy Lower Baggot street. Not quaint Georgian, but shabby "if I purchased I would gut and start over" Georgian. I would not consider this business or tourist class, but budget class. Might I reccommend an option for business/tourist class on a budget - Quality Hotel on Sir John Rogerson's Quay.

“Latchfords Apartments”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 August 2006

We stayed in the Latchfords Apartments in Dublin for a few nights in July 2006. The apartment is nice and large. Lots of space for everything. Very, very functional. It is in a good location and you can walk everywhere within 10 minutes. The staff was excellent - very friendly and helpful. There are cafe's and a grocery store within easy walking distance. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Latchfords Apartments in Dublin. By the way, Dublin is a lovely city to visit. Had a wonderful time there!

“Not impressed.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 July 2006

I booked a room here for my husband who came over for 2 nights for a job interview. He was also considering a longer term apart-hotel arrangement for if he took the job. Admittedly there was a heatwave but the room was stiflingly hot, so it's worth remembering this in summer. The telephone switchboard is unmanned from 10pm (officially - it was in fact earlier) and anyone wanting to make incoming calls gets no answer. So we had to use mobiles - from Italy. The worst part was the almost constant problem with the cold water supply, which failed whilst he was having a shower and nearly caused him to be badly scalded. As it was, he was left covered with soap and shampoo. Staff were not sympathetic to the problem and failed to inform him when it was fixed... he could at least have had a shower before it failed again. Attending an important 3 hour long interview in a heatwave with no shower since the previous afternoon, left my husband singularly unimpressed. "It's not much different from any bad hotel. Don't book it again". He arrived home having had half a shower in 3 days. No compensation offered - which says a lot about the place.
