“Would highly recommend this Hotel to everyone.”

We stayed in the Hotel recently while in Dublin to see Dirty Dancing in the Grand Canal Theatre. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The room was very clean and comfortable and looked as though it has recently been refurbished. All in all an excellent choice in a very central location at a very reasonable cost. Will definitely be back when next in Dublin.

“Anyone at this hotel know what they are doing??”

Unfortunately I had a bad experience on my travel this week. I arrived in Dublin late one evening and didn't have a hotel booking, so I used an app on my phone to look at what cheap hotels were around.
This hotel was the cheapest. So off I go to try and book in. When I arrived there was no night porter so I continued to wait for 15 mins. Eventually got in the hotel, when asking how much they were willing to give me a room for 3 nights they quoted €60 more than on the websites. Even though I showed them this they reckoned they could not do anything about it. So I booked it in front of the receptionist on my phone!
Then when they gave me a room, I got to the first one, the beds hadnt been made, there was a used condom along with other rubbish in the room, so I asked for another room obviously, only to be giving a room where people's luggage was in!
I went back to reception. A little aggrieved and then they finally gave me a great room. But this was outside the main road and above the bar. Trust me, if you plan on sleeping you won't!!
If I had not booked online in front of the receptionist I would have walked away and found somewhere else.
I just found that the person did not really care?
And unfortunately this is my first time posting a bad comment on trip advisor, as I have been to Dublin 17 times previously! I won't go back again to this hotel

“Excellent location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

Had a fantastic time staying at the Belvedere a great big thank you to the management and reception staff who were very helpful with our enquiries.
The hotel seems to be under refurbishment and all areas we went through were beautifully decorated with plush new carpet and very clean.
Our room 107 on the first floor was very quiet at night and huge with very comfortable double and single bed, very clean, light and immaculate, wall mounted TV and tea/coffee making facilities. Bathroom was very clean and beautiful fluffy extra white towels changed daily if required.
We didn't eat at the hotel as we usually eat 'on the go', but the food looked delicious and many people in the bar/restaurant area recommended it, the drinks prices were also fairly priced for the area.
On our last day we asked to leave our luggage as we were not back until late due to a rugby match, there was no problem at all and before leaving the kind receptionist asked us if she could call us a taxi without us asking!
Do not hesitate booking the Belvedere, the prices are very reasonable for a weekend and we cannot wait to visit this hotel in the near future.

Room Tip: Room 107, quiet side of hotel, warm, cosy, clean.

“would never visit again.”

well stayed in this hotel last night with my partner and first of all waited 20 minutes before anyone came to reception booked this room on booking.com for 50euro and got over charged by 15 euro on arrival and no explanation on why we had to pay more. the lights in the corridors were off so it was complete darkness got a room with 3 single beds and one double bed and that is not what i booked i booked a double room. the bathroom was dirty and the room was dusty. the bathmat was stained as was the shower curtain. didnt fancy eating here so went out for food and when we came back there was no night porter in sight waited 10 minutes for him to come eventually i had to ring the hotels phone to get him to come to reception needed drinking water as there was no cold water in our room,. breakfast was over cooked and was hardly any food left. all in all it wasnt a good stay at all and i still would like to know why i got over charged by 15 euro!

Dear Philly101

Thanks for taking the time to write your review. I am very sorry your experience was not up to our usual standard. As I explained in my email to you the extra charge was for the breakfast that you booked. I am sorry that this was not explained to you on check in. I hope that you will take me up on my offer and give me the opportunity to show you our normal standards.

Our one night stay at the Belvedere last June was dreadful!!! The rooms were dirty, rugs filthy with mold in the bathroom. There was yelling and fighting outside most of the night....never again!!!
