“4 Star breakfast, comfortable”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

We got this for 60 euro for two people B&B. That's a good deal. Plus 10.50 for overnight parking. They are on bus lines to the city centre, near the DART train, Aviva (Lansdown Road) stadium, the RDS and just across the road from the embassy of the USA. They have a bar and restaurant, and a good choice for breakfast - full Irish and good fruit & cereal selection, lemon for tea on request; but plates are not heated. The rooms are big enough, we were on the quiet side of the hotel. The traditional hotel furniture in the halls and in the room are reminiscent of the days when it was Jury's Hotel. No free wifi which is rather old fashioned now. Nice to be woken by cooing pigeons in the morning - we had not parked our car under their trees!

“Average Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Spent two nights at the ballsbridge inn recently. I'd give the hotel an average rating:

Pro's:
Got a good rate for the hotel (found it cheaper on hotels.com than directly from hotel)
Close to the RDS and Aviva and also walking distance of town (provided it's not raining).
In a nice part of dublin
Fairly clean

Cons:
The hotel is dated.
You have to pay (quite allot) for parking
The queues for check in was crazy.
The bar food menu is basic.

I'd recommend this hotel for anyone that needs a place to stay near town, the RDS or the Aviva. It's more the kind of hotel you sleep in and leave than hang around in.

“What a find stay now before prices go up”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

I have stayed in dublin a number of times and whilst scouring the internet for somewhere cheap to stay this time came across this hotel. Was travelling with the wifes mum and dad who arn't so good on their feet so wated somewhere with good transport links not only to city center but also on route of DART as we where planning to head out to the suburbs.

Well where can i start. the rice i pais fro two room with full breakfast on a friday night two weeks before christmas was £102 which was for 4 adults and one child.

The hotel is on the aerobus route which was another reason to book as we were dropped off right outside.

On arrival at the hotel i was pleasently surprised as the lobby was bright airy and modern it was quite busy as the bar area was open and the atmosphere was very warm.

The rooms however where a bit dated and in need of renovation to bring it up to scratch with the public areas of the hotel. Please don't let this put you off as the rooms were very spacious and comfortable and very much fit for purpose.

It transpirers that the hotel is currently being modernised (we didn't notice any building work which effected our stay).

The hotel is a very short walk to the lansdown road stadium and the DART station also buses can be caught from outside into city centre. Grafton St about a five minute ride away.

Had a drink in the bar that evening and the atmosphere was fantastic as they had live irish music something i wasn't expecting.

Breakfast was satisfactory with all the usual continental and hot options all you can eat.

Would i stay again at the price i paid it would be rude not to.

This is now my hotelof choice whilst in Dublin (until the price goes up).

Room Tip: avoid rooms near the lift for obvious reaons

“60EURO FOR 2 NIGHTS”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

Hi, I see the headline grabbed your attention. Mine 2 so i decided to try it out as recently as 28th december 2011.The hotel is currently under renovation, well downstairs that is. So only facility to use was the bar which i have 2 say was very pleasant and spacious. The staff were very polite also. On arrival i was greeted by a warm and friendly man on reception, he had a warm friendly smile. Which was pleasant as i did find the hotel to be pretty far from places. Its roughly a 40min walk from St. Stephens Green Shopping Centre. I wasnt sure as to what buses you could get there so did lot of walking. The room i found to be just ok the nets do need replacing as had rust stains on them. I was located on the fourth floor which i have to say was excellent and very quiet. I had an excellent nights sleep there. The decor is pretty oldfashioned, but do avail of the sunken bath. All in all is a good hotel but my only fault would be the rooms need bit of tidying and was a bit far out for me. That said a lot of families were there.

Room Tip: I was on the fourth floor, which i found to be excellent and quiet.Ask for a room at back of hotel...

“good complex”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 December 2011

this hotel is located about a 5 minute cab ride from downtown Dublin. the DART station is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. the Dublin DART will connect you main parts of Dublin within minutes. The D4 hotels is a large complex consisting of the ballsbridge inn and the ballsbridge towers. They are all connected. The hotel offers a Deli, Cafe, Pub and a good size grocery store where you can find anything. the rooms are good size. The only downside to this hotel is housekeeping. The service can be a little more thorough. There was dust in certain areas that should have been clean, but it was still acceptable for the value.
