“Worst Hotel We Have Ever Stayed In”

All started off ok at check in (or so we thought). We went down to the bar to meet family members and ordered a round of drinks, we were told (and not in a polite way) that there was no credit card details behind the reception, when we told them there was and asked them to phone reception, we were told "we're to busy, you'll have to go upstairs yourself". After going up and sorting it out with reception (the receptionist hadforgotten to add our CC details to our room), we asked him to call the bar, and again were told, "we're far to busy, you'll have to tell him yourself". After getting our drinks, we ordered food (basic pub grub), I ordered a Steak Sandwich, Medium, this arrived barely flash fried, lot's of pink flesh still visible, we asked the waiter to have it re-cooked (wasn't bothered for a fresh bit of steak) and 10 minutes later it re-appeared, after biting into in it, it was still red (not rare, raw), it seems like they had seared the visible parts. I opened the roll to find it very very rare (still mooing would be more appropriate).
After coming back from the family party, we asked about a residents bar and told (again by a rude staff member) "there is no residence bar".
Sunday morning we went for breakfast (12.50 Euro for the full Irish, not a lot and not entirely bad), however an old infirm couple were looking for seats, the only one's they could see was the table beside us. when they VERY politely asked the host if he could have someone clear and clean the table, they were told "we're to busy, can you clear it" (and again very rude), when the gentleman questioned this, the host told him VERY loudly, there are other tables, can' you sit there. I love the Sister hotels, and have stayed at the Chiswick Moran many times this was a major let down on so many different levels.

“Perfectly placed for a quiet getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

This was my second visit to this hotel, and once again I was not disappointed. Our twin room was very spacious with a double & single bed, and all the usual facilities. All the staff that we met were very pleasant and helpful, and the service they provided was excellent . We ate in the hotel restaurant on our first night and had the 'early bird' menu which is available from 5pm until 7pm and costs 25 euro. There were several choices on the menu for each of the courses and the food was delicious, excellent value for money, and if you prefer, you can just have 2 courses and pay 22 euro! The hotel is just five minutes walk from the RDS, and if you want to go shopping, catch the bus in front of the hotel. If you prefer there is a taxi rank as well. There is an underground carpark at the hotel, however there is a charge of 10 euro per night for guests, which I think is a bit pricey for residents. However, it would certainly not put me off returning to this excellent hotel.

“Nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Thought it was a nice hotel, good location and at 55 Euro excellent value for money. The Air Coach from Dublin Airport stops right outside. Check area was clean and service good. The journey from reception to the bedrooms is a bit of a maze! Lost my bearings on several occasions, had to leave a trail of breadcumbs! Room itself was a typical of Bewleys, perfectly functional, modern, clean. Bed was comfortable and room was quiet. Breakfast was very nice, self service but good food. Taxi in to City centre was 9 Euro.

“family get together”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

this hotel was perfect for what we wanted and the staff couldn't do enough for us as we had a 16 month old baby with us. they all made such a fuss of him. the lounge was a lovely place to sit as a meeting place. we had an evening meal and although it was on the expensive side it was delicious. i think i would def stay there again and prob book for DB&B instead of room only.

“Basic”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Stayed here one night on room only basis, there was not even soap in the bathroom. We ate in Tom's Bar due to time restrictions and were very disappointed, We were also charged for car parking.
