What a great deal I thought..BIG mistake!!! Couldnt swing a cat in the room. The double bed was in a U shape, so my back is now destroyed. A constant draft through the windows made me sleep with a jumper on (when I actually COULD get some sleep bec the bed was so uncomfortable!) The TV dodnt work and when I tried to phone reception, the phone in the room didnt work. I rang the hotel from my mobile and was told that they were aware of the problem, but obviously didnt bother informing the customer! Music from the nightclub was deafening (even though I like discos) and the noise from people returning to their rooms didnt help matters either! But the icing on the cake is when my partner got an unexpected thump in the bar (unprovoked), shattering his lip with a pint glass and the bouncers "not seeing anything", a full day in the hospital getting it stitched is not my idea of a great weekend at ALL!!! STAY CLEAR OF THIS HOTEL!!!!

The hotel staff were really accomodating and extremely friendly (But then again most people we met in Dublin were) The rooms were quite small and also quite old although it was as clean as it could be. Overall it was ok, If you don't have a huge budget and you don't intend on staying at the hotel for extended periods this is your place. if you want luxury then you might want to look elsewhere.

If you have to pay more, please do yourself a favour and go elsewhere. Room was musty, telly didn't work. Bathrooms in breakfast area hadn't been cleaned after nite club on the previous night and were nothing short of horrific. Grafitti containing foul language on toilet door. I stayed there the weekend of the marathon and when I passed foreigners on the stairs in the morning I was actually embarrased that our lovely country could offer up such a hole for them to have to stay in. I'm usually not one to complain but this was disgraceful.

We were placed at Barry's hotel on 25 October 2011 as the hotel we were meant to stay at was fully booked. We were meant to stay for three nights but did not even stay for one!!! Upon arriving we were told there was come construction work going on and also that there was no lift. Lots of stairs!! If there was not a strong smell of paint from the construction then the place was smelling of urine. Our room was shabby and dirty with huge cracks in the wall and a door that didnt lock properly.

The worst part of this hotel (and the reason we chose to leave after only a few hours) is that part of the hotel is actually a lap dancing club!!! We were unclear oif this was the case or whether it was a nightclub but hotel staff confimed in fact it was a lap dabcing club. There were loads of men hanging around the hotel at night and you were unable to leave the hotel without being "propositioned" by them.

Very unsafe place for two females to stay!!!!!
