The Abbey Hotels location is ideal for a stay in Dublin’s city centre; The L.U.A.S line runs along the street in front of the hotel (from Connolly train station to Tallagh Hospital via Heuston Train Station) I found it hard to locate at first but remembered it was across from Arnott’s Department Store on middle abbey street.
When I first walked in to the hotel I thought it was a bar and only when a member of staff approached me and asked if I was ok that I realised that it was the hotel.
The reception is in the door on the left to quote a reviewer below (it was basically a cupboard) well it looks that way; the staff were friendly and had good sense of humour. The hotel staff kindly informed me that they were doing renovations and explained that the elevator wasn't working and were very apologetic. My room was spotless. No problems at all.
I only stayed for one night and I cannot comment on the food as I did not eat there, but I did have a few pints of Guinness there and they were to my approval. Bed was comfortable; the bathroom was clean and had a powerful and hot shower.
I slept very well and I did not hear any noise from the street at all I would definitely go back to stay at Abbey Hotel on my next visit to Dublin. The price of the accommodation is very cheap, so I can see this Hotel doing well in the future.
