“good location in dublin city centre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2011

The Abbey Hotels location is ideal for a stay in Dublin’s city centre; The L.U.A.S line runs along the street in front of the hotel (from Connolly train station to Tallagh Hospital via Heuston Train Station) I found it hard to locate at first but remembered it was across from Arnott’s Department Store on middle abbey street.

When I first walked in to the hotel I thought it was a bar and only when a member of staff approached me and asked if I was ok that I realised that it was the hotel.
The reception is in the door on the left to quote a reviewer below (it was basically a cupboard) well it looks that way; the staff were friendly and had good sense of humour. The hotel staff kindly informed me that they were doing renovations and explained that the elevator wasn't working and were very apologetic. My room was spotless. No problems at all.

I only stayed for one night and I cannot comment on the food as I did not eat there, but I did have a few pints of Guinness there and they were to my approval. Bed was comfortable; the bathroom was clean and had a powerful and hot shower.

I slept very well and I did not hear any noise from the street at all I would definitely go back to stay at Abbey Hotel on my next visit to Dublin. The price of the accommodation is very cheap, so I can see this Hotel doing well in the future.

Room Tip: On Booking ask about the elevator and if it’s out of order ask for a room on the first floor. Rooms...

“Small but does the job... amazing location”

The Hotel location was definitely the highlight of my stay at the Abbey Hotel, and of course the friendly staff. As the hotel is right in the city center, I thought to ask for a quiet room... which they did, didn't hear any noise from the street at all but found the bed too small and be aware that there is no wifi connection on the 3rd and 4th floor rooms but you can access it from the lobby - free of charge. Booked directly to the hotel website and managed to get a special rate online, I would definitely go back to stay at Abbey on my next visit to Dublin.

“Change of Management”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

There is a change of Management at this hotel and they are at present renovating it. I have been going there quite a lot in the last couple of years. It suits me on account of its location on Abbey Street, Dublin. Claudia at reception is such a gem. She was so helpful and kind. I have always found the staff at this Hotel very nice and homely. The elevator was out of order. We were on the third floor and the exercise was good for us. The price of the pint is the cheapest in Dublin I cannot comment on the food as we did not eat there. The price of the accomodation is very cheap, so I can see this Hotel doing well in the future. It has changed management a few times in the last couple of years but each time as I said before the staff are lovely. That means a lot for me. Overall I enjoyed my stay there. It is so convenient in the middle of the City Centre

We stayed here for 2 nights (3 - 5 november) and found it to be an excellent choice.
The hotel staff were welcoming and friendly and did everything within their power to ensure we had a good time
Bed was comfortable, the bathroom well stocked with a powerful and hot shower and lovely fluffy towels.
We also liked the location aswell so we will deffenetly use this hotel again.
