“a pleasant surprise!”

We spent a very pleasant weekend at Ripley Court Hotel. The room was a good size, spotless too! The breakfasts were fantastic, really set you up for the day. Was a bit dubious after reading reviews but nothing to worry about. Asked for a quiet room and we were accommodated in this. The walls of rooms are a bit thin, but its up to guests to realise this and show some consideration. A matter of minutes walk away from Connolly Station and a great price too! Will definitely recommend this hotel to all my friends and would love to stay again there soon.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at back of hotel, we were in room 134, good location

Wife & I stayed on a Friday night as it was teh cheapest in the IFSC area for a function we were attending.

Pulled up in the car accross the street the doormen were very helpful & directed me to the reception area. They even offered would I like to park the car in the secure car park which I declined as its was going to be a bag drop off and out again.

Nice man on receptuion gave my name and checked in very quickly. Nice cosy bar would have liked to try it for a few drinks. Bedrooms are average size, comfy bed. On the downside could do with eitehr a mini bar or alternatively bottled water in the room.

Batrooms were spotless and the showers were decent. We had a front room facing onto the main street which can be quite noisy. Anyone looking for a bit of peace & quiet should request a room at the back of the hotel. It did not bother me as I am used to trains passing and the train line/bridge is right in front of the hotel.

Can't comment on breakfast as we did not get up for it. However we were encouraged to get up for it by house keeping who called to our room at 930am. This did not bother us as it was useful as an alarm clock.

We met very pleasant & helpful staff and leaving the hotel who were more than happy to help us both form reception and teh cleaning staff.

In summary average hotel, good location great price which is improved upon by the staff. Would definately consider staying again as if all you need is a place to get your head down after a Dublin night out this does the trick.

Room Tip: Quieter rooms at the back of the hotel. You can save money by not booking breakfast as there are nu...

“Good value for the location”

Went to Dublin for a Rugby Weekend. As Welsh visitors we were warmly welcomed by the Irish both on and off the pitch. The Ripley Court is in a good location. Close to Connelly Station, the airport bus (747) drops you off right outside the hotel. O'Connell Street is a short walk down the road and it's close to all the bars restaurants and shops. The staff are very friendly, the rooms are clean, the beds are comfy. What more do you want for a Rugby Weekend in Dublin. Would def recommend to others and make a return visit myself.

Room Tip: Don't bother looking out of the window if you're at the back of the hotel !!

“Great Weekend In Dublin”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 February 2012

Just had a great weekend in Dublin. The Hotel was lovely, staff very friendly. I was a bit worried after reading some of the reviews, but there was no need. Went to the Grand Canal Theatre to see a show, Reception staff booked a taxi for us. We had a meal in the Bar before we left and the Steak was gorgeous. The breakfast in the morning would fill you up for the day. We will be back for sure.

Room Tip: We had Room 224 which was very quiet.

“Good price, average hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

The hotel is in a dangerous part of Dublin city centre - we were told this when asking for directions and advised to be careful going back there late at night. I was slightly worried, especially when we did find it and it looked like it was closed down with a padlock on the bars of the car park.

Security had their own desk inside the entrance and reception was further in. Check in was straight forward. Our room had all the necessaries but looked very dated and was quite cold. I turned up the heating (instructions on the wall) and it warmed up very quickly. The pillows were quite flat and there was a blanket that my boyfriend said 'they must have gotten from the orphanage'! Comfortable enough and good for the price. The shower was very nice but the caulking in the bathroom needed to be redone.

Housekeeping knocked at 9am which annoyed me greatly as check out wasn't until 11 - I have seen other reveiws complaining of same. We didn't have breakfast but went across the road to The Pantry which was lovely. The hotel was close to the bus that we were taking and was handy in this respect but I did feel it was a pretty long trek to and from Temple Bar. No major complaints and it was good value for the rate we were given.

Room Tip: Back rooms are probably quieter but we heard a lot of noise from water tanks when other guests used...
