“Excellent for families!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Have stayed here on a number of occasions and the family room is massive! This a reasonably priced hotel and people are made to feel really welcome. Even on a busy weekend, when people pump up the prices I was given my normal rate, which was excellent. Similar to a previous comment, the only thing I will say is that this is a very warm hotel, so the thermostat may have to be dropped a bit. That said, better too warm than too cold. All in all, a great place to stay and very well located at the top of O'Connell St.

“Nice friendly hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 December 2011

Stayed here for 3 nights, visiting Dublin as a lone female, and relt pretty safe here. Room was a little too hot, but better than being cold. I was expecting a single room as was alone but on arrival was checked into a room with a double bed so that was a bonus in itself, so extra value for money I would say. Breakfast was good and served by very friendly staff.

Good location for shopping and the hop on hop off tour bus, which was excellent value for money and an ideal was to see all the sights of Dublin. Also located close by is the airport bus, again good value and beats paying for a taxi to and from the airport.

The only downside is I didnt feel that safe when leaving the hotel to walk down to O Connell Street. On my first day I say a young looking Eastern European woman with her face recently slashed open all the down the one side with blood dripping everywhere, she was in a doorway next door to the George.

On the whole an enjoyable trip to Dublin, just slighted spoilt from the above sight, however, one of the barmaids in a pub I visited did warn me to be on my guard as with me being a lone woman travel I may be targeted by pick pockets as the area was rife for this.

“Cheap as chips!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

Stayed here a total of 5 nights in the last two months (convenient to a course I was taking). Overall a big thumbs up. City centre, near any bus route you could want, free car parking!! This might not seem like much but that is a saving of €20 per day. They gave me a room with very short notice and having listened to my tale of woes, upgraded me to a bigger room, incredibly quiet for the city centre. Very pleasant helpful staff. Breakfast is ok but you couldn't beat this for location. €59 for b&b.

Room Tip: Free car parking a huge bonus for city centre
