I recently stayed here with friends as part of theatre package to see 'Dirty Dancing' in the Grand Canal Theatre.
The package was great value as it included one night's B&B accommodation, evening meal and transport to and from the theatre by bus.
The hotel is large, clean, easy to locate and has a good size pay-to-park carpark for guests.
Staff were very friendly and helpful; the menu is varied and staff are very knowledgable. They even had gluten-free bread - which is unusual - and one male chef had really good awareness of cross-contaminiation between g/f and gluten-containing foods.
The service during the evening meal was very prompt and the food delicious - although I would have liked more than one slice of roast beef. The salmon looked plentiful and delicious.
We shared a triple room (three single beds) which was very clean but a little dark due to the lighting. The bathroom was spotless but the shower wasn't particularly good. Unfortunately, there weren't any showercaps in the rooms. Towels (a hand towel and bath towel each per guest) were provided. As was a good hairdryer and hospitality tray.
Breakfast was chaotic to say the least - probably because they appeared to be short-staffed. There were no glasses or pure orange. Toast was chaotic and staff were really being hassled. Unfortunately, the foreign national cooking the eggs used a sea of oil in which to fry them and her grasp of English was insufficient to be reliable. The hot breakfast was lukewarm. The fruit, cereals and joghurts were fine.
Overall, I'd stay here again and I think it would be a good base for a break in Dublin
