4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 January 2012

we stayed for one night and when we checked in we found it was a very easy and quick check in but not very welcoming.
the room was an average size and bathroom was big. the beds were not made up properly.the bar food was excellent and the service good.
the room service was quick and very friendly.
overall the experience was good.

“Excellent hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

This was our last night in Ireland. The concierge was delightful and very helpful with directions and knowledgable about the attractions in Dublin. The beds were large and comfortable and there was one US outlet in our room. The food in the pub was very nice, but I was disappointed in the desserts.

Myself and my husband recently stayed over night in Clontarf Castle Hotel in Clontarf in Dublin along with four other couples. The Hotel is beautiful very warm and friendly. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. There are two bars one of which we spent our night in drinking and dining the food was excellent as were all the hotel staff. Everyone really enjoyed the night and would have no problem recomending this Hotel.

“Good Hotel for a Function”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

Stayed here one night for a wedding reception, and everything was fine. The room was clean and comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. The food and service at the reception was very good and overall we found the hotel staff friendly and helpful.

The Clontarf Castle is good for functions like wedding receptions, but wouldn't be much use to tourists to Dublin - it's miles away from attractions so expensive taxi rides/bus trips would be required to get anywhere if you don't have a car (and I would not recommend driving in Dublin either, if you're a tourist).

Dear Guest,
Many thanks for the lovely review. I am so glad you had a nice stay with us. I was so pleased to hear how much you enjoyed your room, the food and the service. As you mention we are located outside the city centre, about 10 minutes drive away. Also, the hotel is serviced by the 130 bus which leaves from just outside the hotel and takes about 15 minutes to get to the city centre. I hope you thoroughly enjoyed your stay and I hope we get a chance to welcome you back again soon.
Yours sincerely,
Mark Long

“City accessible, in a quiet suburb”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

From checking in to leaving, the staff were warm and attentive, couldn't fault the service. Rooms were perfectly equipped and we had a great bar meal in a lovely setting - the design of the hotel is superb. Lovely promenade walk along coastal inlet gave impression of not being part of the hustle and bustle of the city.
