“Nice room but experience with noise varied by the night; as did bar and breakfast service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

Stayed 4 nights and overall the experience was OK / Good. As the location, for what I needed, was very good I'll stay there when visiting in future. The room was a decent size with a double and single bed {booked single occupancy} and quite comfortable. Decent bathroom with shower over bath. And for once the hotel did what it said it would do with the towels for ECO reasons. If you left them hanging up they didn't get changed. It is an irritation to me where hotels change towels unnecessarily when asking you to "consider the environment"!
Breakfast on the first 2 days was excellent. Small buffet choice - cereals, juice, tea / coffee, toast, small choice of cold cooked meat etc with the hot food freshly cooked to order and served on a very warm plate. Nice {excellent actually} bacon and superb poached eggs. Final day {different staff?} had undercooked eggs and some colleagues not getting the items ordered. Similar with the bar service. First 3 nights a very efficient "waitress" who seemed to understand her customers and adjusted the approach (banter?) to suit the different guests. Last night with maybe less customers, different staff and service was a lot slower.
Ate in the bar or the inn on site. Both perfectly acceptable.
The main downside was noise from other guests. First night thought how quiet the hotel was. Excellent! 2nd night the occupants in the next room arriving back well after midnight had a lot of difficulty accessing their room, discussing this at length with volume set at "high" and on succeeding on gaining entry entertained everyone else on the corridor with a "trumpet fanfare". Excessive noise from guests both sides of my room on 3rd & 4th nights. Ear plugs next time? Can the hotel be blamed for the inconsiderate behaviour of people. Probably not unless it is really excessive but they need to think about sound proofing.
For the price charged it was overall very good value. Maybe possible to stay here for central Dublin as there was a tram / train line within easy walking distance of the hotel. Didn't use it but might consider the option when we visit Dublin as a tourist

Nightmare of a night in the red cow Moran hotel. On return to the hotel questioned at door by a security guard just to return to your room very rude and arrogant witnessed him bribing people for money to take strangers to Der room. Myself and girlfriend ordered a pizza each and door was banged down by security for room to be searched. Would never stay here again even if it was free.....

“shame about the noise”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

My husband and I have just returned from a 2 night stay at this hotel. The room was lovely it was very clean and with the weather being cold it was nice and warm. The first night we had a meal which was excellent and the bar staff were I must say very professional and very nice.
When we booked we asked for a quiet room and it was quiet for Friday night but Saturday was a nightmare. The people in the next room were banging on the door to get in at 4am in the morning and just before that around 3am kids were running up and down the corridor banging on our door and other doors. All night we had people banging to get into their rooms. Perhaps they should have security to come and check were the noise is coming from. I did phone reception but had no luck. What a shame as getting off red cow roundabout was a real experience.

I was in Dublin for two days on business as was recommended to stay at the Red Cow Moran. I was pleased with the central location to where I was also attending meetings and even more pleased when I saw the size of the rooms. Room service was excellent and food was very good.

“Qwuick stay but nice...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Stayed ther overnight, as i had something nearby to do.
Had dinner, was great, fvery friendly staff. Reception lobby very nice , so the staffs at the lobby.
The corridor was quite narrow , but the room had a good size.
Breakfast was very good, once again the staffs very nice.
The only problem I had was to get there, went by luas and had no idea how to crossover and the in the hotel, end up lost in the middle of the road and got a taxi to bring us up there.
Next time even if u are going by car, plan the route, as the road there are very confusing.

Hi KarenKidd

Thank you for taking the time to post your review it was most enjoyable to read. In regard to the Luas station if a guest is traveling by the Luas from Dublin, cross the tracks to the right and follow the pathway which will leave you to the foot bridge, turn right on the bridge and the pathway will leave you very close to the hotel entrance. If you are traveling by car please contact our reception team and they will direct you to the easy route to the hotel.
Kind regards Robbie Bailey
