Stayed 4 nights and overall the experience was OK / Good. As the location, for what I needed, was very good I'll stay there when visiting in future. The room was a decent size with a double and single bed {booked single occupancy} and quite comfortable. Decent bathroom with shower over bath. And for once the hotel did what it said it would do with the towels for ECO reasons. If you left them hanging up they didn't get changed. It is an irritation to me where hotels change towels unnecessarily when asking you to "consider the environment"!
Breakfast on the first 2 days was excellent. Small buffet choice - cereals, juice, tea / coffee, toast, small choice of cold cooked meat etc with the hot food freshly cooked to order and served on a very warm plate. Nice {excellent actually} bacon and superb poached eggs. Final day {different staff?} had undercooked eggs and some colleagues not getting the items ordered. Similar with the bar service. First 3 nights a very efficient "waitress" who seemed to understand her customers and adjusted the approach (banter?) to suit the different guests. Last night with maybe less customers, different staff and service was a lot slower.
Ate in the bar or the inn on site. Both perfectly acceptable.
The main downside was noise from other guests. First night thought how quiet the hotel was. Excellent! 2nd night the occupants in the next room arriving back well after midnight had a lot of difficulty accessing their room, discussing this at length with volume set at "high" and on succeeding on gaining entry entertained everyone else on the corridor with a "trumpet fanfare". Excessive noise from guests both sides of my room on 3rd & 4th nights. Ear plugs next time? Can the hotel be blamed for the inconsiderate behaviour of people. Probably not unless it is really excessive but they need to think about sound proofing.
For the price charged it was overall very good value. Maybe possible to stay here for central Dublin as there was a tram / train line within easy walking distance of the hotel. Didn't use it but might consider the option when we visit Dublin as a tourist
