We found Shaw Court Apartments a perfect place to stay for a few nights with our family +1 (total 6). We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment. All was clean and it was nice to have a livingroom and kitchen to mill about instead of just a "hotel" room to sit in while we got used to the time change (5 hours from US).
It was walking distance to Grafton Street/Trinity College, etc. We ate at the Bleeding Horse which had fine food and was on the way to town. Bewley's Cafe on Grafton had the best Full Irish Breakfast and the PorterHouse - found down a side street off Grafton in a "dark alley" served excellent food and beer for dinner. We got the Beer Sampler for 3 different types and enjoyed them all.
A quick trip to Spar's (convenient store) stocked us up on a few food items we wanted to keep in the apartment. Shaw Court provides tea and instant coffee (which wasn't terrible), sugars and creamer.
My only complaint was the water heater. It was very loud and even though 2 doors separated me from it - I could hear it all night.
We did not rent a car until we were leaving because we knew ahead of time there was NO parking anywhere near the apartments and anything we couldn't walk to - we took the bus. Highly recommend the "rambler" bus pass.
