“Least favorite hotel during entire trip.”

I see all the high reviews for this hotel....maybe I'm missing something? Or perhaps we just had some rare poor experiences. Whatever the case may be, I would NOT recommend this hotel to any friends visiting Dublin. At a comparable price, I would recommend the Brooks Hotel....better location, service and rooms...hands down.

We found the staff to be incredibly rude and unhelpful, the rooms were dusty and various things were broken, the food at their retaurant was atrocious, and while it was walking distance to the city center, there wasn't much directly around the hotel. Ugh, would NOT stay here again. Plenty of other good options.

“great position”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Very nice but I can only give it 3 stars because, like another traveller below, the room was cold and the heater never came on in the night. I was only there one night but if it had been more I would have kicked up a fuss about the no heating situation in the room. I would however stay there again as it was in a very convenient position in downtown central dublin. Nice Bar.

“nice surroundings, shocking staff”

ill give credit where it is due first. The room was fantastic and the hotel is in a great location but the staff are awful. English was not the first language of any member of staff we encountered which ranged from the doorman to the manager. This caused huge problems trying to get even the simplest answers out of them. Every single one of the staff showed their disgust at being asked a question or request as if it were seriously inconveniencing them. The car park is not owned by the hotel and if they do not issue you with a pass you will be clamped at huge cost to remove. I would like to stay there again, given the location and rooms, but the thought of having to deal with possibly the most ignorant staff i have come across ever, means i will not and will certainly not recommend it to anyone.

“Excellent Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

I usually stay here when in Dublin for concerts as it is very central to everything. Concerts were in Croke Park and 02. The decor is lovely and quiet unusual. The rooms are lovely and comfortable and heat can be regulated to whatever temperature you want. The staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. The last time I was there was with my two daughters we had a bottle of our own champagne with us and asked for glasses and they couldn't have done enough as they got a bucket of ice and glasses sent to the room and the young man who brought it up even offered to pour out the champagne. I wouldn't go beyond this hotel if staying in Dublin. Also the price is very reasonable considering that it is now a 4 star hotel.

“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

Lovely hotel would definitely stay there again, staff very friendly, hotel very clean and quirky, food very good. The only negatives the room was very dark and the radiator didn't work so was a little cold in the room.
