“Friendly and Everything I Needed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

Visiting my son who lives nearby so location excellent for me. Free wifi everywhere in hotel. Only ate breakfast there but it was very good...freshly cooked not the far too frequent buffet. Room was clean with a good shower and bath...my solitary gripe - shower curtain not glass panel, though not as clingy as some I've met! Very relaxed atmosphere, efficient without being all over you and a good welcome from David who may have been the proprietor. All in all a really good experience. After checking out I walked to O'Connell Street and it took me 30 minutes

“Just be aware...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

I don't want to re-state everything that has been already said about the wonderful staff, lovely breakfast, dated rooms, nice bar/restaurant, location, etc. However one thing I have found missing from most of the reviews (and that I've noticed the few times I have stayed there) is that if someone is in the room next to you at times it feels like they are in your room with you. The last time I stayed here I was woken up by the man next door turning on the BBC and talking on the phone (how I knew it was a man) both weekend mornings. The walls must be quite thin so just be aware that you have very little privacy....

“Comfortable stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

This hotel resembles the Tardis: Behind the ordinary town house entrance is a surprisingly large and sprawling hotel. Our room was very comfortable but unexceptional. There was a little flaking paint in the bathroom and a broken wall-socket cover, but it was clean and otherwise well looked after. It was very quiet, the staff were friendly and helpful, and they serve a very nice breakfast. It is an easy walk or short bus ride from the city center and there is a taxicab rank across the street. All in all good value for money.

“Home away from home”

I stay here regularly with work and I love it. Reception staff are very helpful, they can't do enough for you. The recption area is nice and relaxed. Rooms are warm and comfortable. Mother Reilly's bar is great. Great pint of Guinnes and a bloody good steak if you're hungry! Live music some nights as well. Free car parking and wi-fi!! All in all a great hotel for the price.

“Uppercross House Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2011

What a lovely hotel. We spent seven nights there and were very happy. Our primary focus of the trip was a conference, which was located nearby, but this hotel would be perfect for anyone wanting to visit Dublin, but also wanting to stay a bit outside the downtown. All of the rooms are comfortable and of a reasonable size. The rooms also come with breakfast, which can be something light such as fruit, yogurt, toast, and tea or a substantial full Irish breakfast. The staff are pleasant and very helpful. On our first morning, they directed us to the nearest bus stop and told us exactly when and where to get off. The ride in to Dublin Center took about ten minutes (do be careful climbing to the top of a double decker bus when it is moving). There are several restaurants as well as the pub next door. Also, there is a full supermarket just across the street from the hotel. We would happily stay there again.
