This is a fairly new hotel located straight across the street from the National Concert Hall in Dublin. I grew up as a child staying in the Chicago Conrad Hilton and Palmer House Towers so I had high expectations which were exceeded when we walked into Dublin's Conrad Hotel.
There was confussion about our online booking but someone behind the scenes, who we never got to meet, named Marie phoned us just as we reached the room assigned to us. The porter, Gary was so wonderful and so very helpful in showing us to another room. We ended up staying two nights (and wish we could have stayed longer) in a beautiful, cosy, spacious, quiet room #432 which overlooked the magnificent Concert Hall. It was immaculate with six wide windows, plenty of closet space, a large desk under a view window with wifi access at a very reasonable charge of 5.00 a day. If you didn't use the 5.00 computer card each day, they refunded it with no problem. In the end we used the lobby for computer hook up as this had free access.
I must say the bar in the room was well stocked as was the free tea/coffee caddy and fresh bottles of water were delivered with the nightly turn down service. I have never encountered such elegant bathroom supplies. There was everything from toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, comb, nail files, mouthwash and shampoo, bars of soap not just on the vanity but on the tub and in the shower. Literally all you need bring is your coat and hat.
We eat mostly in the lobby restaurant and then each day had a scrumptious afternoon tea at 3:00PM. Breakfast was very expensive and not included in the price of the room. Everything is within walking distance. We were able to walk through St Stepen's Green to shopping on Grafton Street and Gary was always very considerate in opening the door and giving us a hotel umbrella or calling a taxi. This is our favourite hotel in Dublin now.
