“great location, once again”

Arrived in Dublin-caught the Air coach & arrived @ Hotel. Very friendly , helpful staff- large room with separate bathroom/bath . Feather duvets & pillows- very comfy & warm. Stayed 7 nights- great orientation to city with Hop a bus- for 2 days- 2nd day free. Was able to visit most of the sites --of which there is alot to see in Dublin- a very vibrant, lively city. Highlights- Trinity college /Book of Kells & Longroom- Christ Church & Dublinia- Dublin castle/Church of the most Holy Trinity & Chester Beatty library-National museum @ Collin Barracks plus National museu of Ireland. Unfortunately National gallery mostly closed for renovation-though very good book shop- National history museum- unfortunately not really into dead stuffed animals. Good eateries- O'Neills - very good value- Elephant & Castle- excellent- Bewleys- Coffee Fixx. Daytrip to Bru na Boinne (Newgrange)- amazing- a must see.

“Good location”

Stayed at Buswells recently for a night with a few friends.

The hotel is very well located on the corner of Kildare Street and Molesworth Street directly opposite the Dáil. We chose it primarily for its location. It is a good location for access to Dawson Street and the Grafton Street area.

The rooms were nice - not plush mind you - and the beds comfortable.

The staff were very professional and courteous at all times. Ate in the bar and breakfast at the restaurant and this was fine too.

Great place to go to spot politicians, journalists and other political hacks.

No complaint about the hotel - would recommend it primarily because of its location. There are better (and more expensive) options nearby but we were happy overall with the hotel.

Comfortable, central hotel in Dublin city. Pleasant staff, friendly customers and big cozy chairs with a real fire. The bedroom was extremely comfortable and my only dislike would be the size of the bathroom in my single room. Would stay here in Dublin every time.

“Grand Old Hotel with a Great Location and Great Value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

This was a FIND! A friend at work recommended the best location to stay in Dublin. Then I did a search on Trip Advisor limiting the amount I would spend for a hotel for one night for 2 people with breakfast to under 200 USD. This was one, of not too many hotels, that came up for that price. So I booked and I was not the least disappointed. It is great value for the money and probably the most luxurious place I stayed on my 3 week vacation.
Now the place is old, but the reception and dining room are grand, just grand. And I am one that appreciates old luxury (coming from the states, you just don't get as much 'old luxury').
I especially like that besides the buffet, you could order a limited variety of things off the menu and I had the salmon and eggs.
Probably the best part is that the location really was ideal, bordered by Grafton Street to the West, Trinity College to the north, St. Stephen's Green to the south, and a number of museums to the east. All of these within easy walking distance - 5 minutes.
The only criticism I have, and it would be so easy to fix, is there was a letter missing from the hotel sign and some of the light bulbs were burned out of the fixtures. Those things reminded me of the age and that it seemed a little worn.
The receptionist was just great. It seemed as if she remembered every person. She knew our room number. This is not a small place for such individualized service.

“A great choice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

I chose Buswells based only on online reviews, pictures, and rates. I knew nothing about Dublin. When I arrived, I was a little nervous about what I would find. Buswells was the right choice. Great atmosphere in the lobby, lounge and restaurant areas. Excellent service. Clean and nicely decorated room. A great, centrally located neighborhood. I would definitely stay there again.
