We stayed at the Globetrotters in May of last year as a part of our honeymoon holiday! We arrived in Dublin by car, as we had been driving around Ireland for 5 days, to find that the Queen was in town and nearly everything was going into lock down. When we arrived the lovely ladies have us the low down on the Queen and what would be closed while she was in town. The Guinness factory was one of. The ladies checked us in very quickly then gave us directions to the tram and told us how to get the factory. (most of Dublin was fenced off during her visit - we went out to drop off some washing and buy some souveniers and we couldnt get back to the hostel for 4 hours!)
Our room was very a quaint old worldy feel room, nice space with a tv, double bed small table and chair. There was coffee and tea and a kettle also. The bathroom was small with a great shower.
Breakfast was a full cooked breakfast which you get up and they serve to you - very filling and delicous!
The hostel itself is very close to public transport, O'connell street and some lovely local restaurants and shops. One particular restaurant was recommended to us by the lovely ladies at the counter of the globetrotters was Le Bon Crubeen. It was amazing and I highly recommend trying it - especially the Pork Belly and seafood chowder!
All in all this is a great place to stay - very helpful in a great part of town!
