“Abraham House Hostel Dublin”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 January 2012

A very helpful and obliging staff who went out of their way to make the stay very pleasant and with a minimum of glitches. Very clean and tidy rooms. An excellent baggage storage arrangement. This can be a busy hostel so the staff have limited time to get to know you.
Although this was my first experience with a hostel in Western Europe I was particularly impressed by the generous and well catered breakfast that is supplied. Other countries would do well to follow this practice.
Overall I was very impressed and would stay there again.
The only reason this venue did not receive an 'excellent' was the cost of the relatively very average 3 internet computers. This is probably a reflection on advancing technology - almost everyone has a laptop or notebook and stand alone units are becoming rare. However this does not apply to everyone for whatever reason and I do feel all hostels should maintain at least 2 units at 15 minute free access blocks. I encountered this system in Helsinki and it worked well. Other than that I highly recommend this hostel.

“great deal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

I got this place for a steal when I was in Ireland in April of 2010. I think I got it for like 8 euros a night in a 10 bed dorm. The rooms are clean and the staff is very nice. It's on the same row as a lot of other hostels and is pretty close to the river so the location is good. The common area was very comfy as well. really the only downside to it was there was no elevator so I had to drag my bag up about 4-5 flights of stairs. But the hostel is set up in what i guess use to be an old house so there are tons of hall and stairways, which i thought was cool and felt the need to go exploring. Overall I would stay here again if I found a cheap rate again. There are even nicer hostels though that have more amenities so if the price was higher I might look elsewhere.

“Basic, basic, basic”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

I've stayed in a lot of hostels and this one was very basic and dull. Its cheap and you get a bed for the night which is all you need when you're staying in a hostel so can't really complain but there is no personality to the place.
The staff are friendly and if you are just looking for somewhere cheap to lay your head then this place will be fine.
Some positive things to say though are that it is in an excellent location, it is clean and there is a place a few doors down that does a lovely fry up but can't remember the name sorry! (Its a few doors to the right as you come out of the hostel)

Room Tip: Ask for towels when you check in.

“Will definitely be back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2011

Abraham House was my first Hostel experience, and my first solo traveling experience. I was a little nervous, but as soon as i stepped through the door all of that went away. The staff are all very friendly, and extremely helpful. I felt at home the entire stay (14 days), and i am actually staying for nearly a month come late September 2011. (two 14 day sessions). The only negative i would give Abraham House is the fact that WiFi isn't throughout the entire building, but is nowhere near enough for me to not come back, or suggest to friends. The place is kept clean, and the staff actually let you leave your luggage in the luggage room until 2pm (check in) or for as long as it takes for you to head out to your next destination. I will definitely stay again, and have already recommended numerous people to Abraham House.
Thanks for a great experience, ya'll!

Room Tip: 20 Bed room is cheapest, and not crowded. If you are on a budget, go big!

“It was what I expected - could recommend for budget travellers”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2011

I had chosen Abraham House becauce it was close to both bus and railway stations and not too far from the centre, either. Compared with the prices of single rooms with its own bathroom elsewhere, it wasn't too expensive. Of course the rooms were very basic as well as the basement where breakfast was served - it was a hostel and hadn't expected more - but my room was clean and the breakfast was included in the price (25 €, though at weekend double). The sheets were give free of charge.
Staff was friendly and the reception open 24/7. A lot of brochures about day trips and tourist information were available.
The only little thing to complain could be the room doors: it was almost impossible to close them without making noise; that disturbed a little bit at night, while the people were coming and going. Otherwise it was quite calm and quiet.
