“Hip and on Top”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Just came back from my short trip to Dublin as i do every couple of month
It is very hard to find decent places in temple bar dublin my prefered place when i am in dublin
So had a look at farringtons and i called as the pictures on the website where very promising
Declan answered the phone and was very helpful and polite as the whole staff there
On arrival i was shown the room 2 flights up the stairs on the second floor are 5 recently done up guestrooms
number 3 i got and my god what a room as you enter there is a small porch and a huge bathroom with a jacuzzi bath and modern fittings
another door and you are entering a decent size bedroom with a six foot bed and a small coffee table 2 chairs. there is a flat screen tv mounted to the wall and incl. a dvd player
everything is kept clean and plain there is no fancy rugs but nice wooden floors
Normally i would be a person looking for fancy rooms and drapes and lots of Gadgets
Farringtons has none of it but is not short of elegance non the less.
My stay was a pleasant one and relaxing as the beds are comfortable and spacious.
In my opinion Farringtons offers the independent travellers a great deal of comfort and luxury
and indulges in beeing practical as well
For the price you get it is by far the best value in temple bar as so many of the hotels are dated there and if they are up standard you are talking big money
Farringtons is an amazing place and ranges on number one with the merchant house in my books

One small comment for previous reviews Noise is always an Issue in temple bar and should not be underestimated but i was well aware of that fact and i found it unjust to write it in a review as farringtons even mention it in there website .

thank you so much for a fantastic stay at your humble abode

Room Tip: room number 3 is suppose to be the best room in the house as it has a big jacuzzi and shower

“If you want to stay up all night and go to the pubs, this is ideal.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 January 2012

The music, yelling and singing was so loud we were only able to sleep a couple of hours. We would never stay here again. The rooms are ok, there are no phones in the room and no way to contact anyone if you have a problem.

“Nice room, great location”

Stayed here over the weekend with my boyfriend. After seeing the pictures was concerned about the size of the room but its more than big enough for two of you for the weekend with a little area to get dressed/ put cases etc. The accomodation only has 5 rooms but they get cleaned to a high standard daily. There were a few minor issues with the room which we didnt bother mentioning as we were only there 3 nights such as the toliet seat and toliet roll holder broken which they obviously know about as the maid placed them back to how they should be when they cleaned! Doesnt sound much but was actually very annoying! Hairdryer comes in the room so save luggage allowance and dont bother taking one!
The pub downstairs Farringtons itself was very nice too and we went for a drink during the day. A few people have mentioned the staff being unhelpful and rude but we didnt find this at all. They were as accomodating as you need and put our luggage away for the day after checking out no problem.
Theres also a decent size Tesco down the road to have some sandwiches and drinks in the room before going out for the night to save on some funds with Dublin prices!

“Most unfriendly staff of Irland”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2010

The room is nice, small but clean and very comfortable bed. The area is really noisy, and after a while you realize is more for turists than the real Dublin, I would choose Crafton street area next time. Distances are really short walking, so is not really worth the really noisy streets in Temple Bar, really crowded with drunk loud tourists.

Regarding the staff, I must say they were the only unfriendly people I found in Dublin. There isn't a reception, so you have to ask to waiters attending the pub. They are busy and you can tell they are not willing to help you. On the contrary, upon my arrival I was asked for payment in advance for the whole stay in a really unpolite fashion. No "Hello", "Welcome" or "Did you have a nice trip". First and only greeting was the bill.

Dublin is charming, so are most people there. People would offer you help without asking if you are trying to read a map. The only unfriendly ones were precisely the staff at the place I spent most of my money, in advance by the way.
