“Did not get to stay”

This is possibly a great B&B as most of the reviews say but when we arrived after seeing the sign at the gate everything went wrong . We asked to see the room and it looked fine but the price we felt was above the budget level we had set for our travels . The Lady said she had a smaller room at a lower price so we had a look . We checked the bed linen as we always do and were about to say yes we would love the room when she in an abrupt manner said she felt'' it would be better if we went some ware else''. So after telling her what we thought of her attitude left ,our departure was delayed as she held the car door offering an apology . Sorry Not accepted . We have stayed in nearly 300 B&B all over Europe ,never booking and always check the room , shower and bed linen with never a problem . We found a B&B next door who was happy to take our money during the tough times Ireland is facing

“Fantastic B&B!”

Eileen and Tony were fabulous hosts and Ardlenagh View was a fabulous place to stay. Eileen welcomed us into the house and gave us a map of Donegal, talked us through directions, gave us parking recommendations, and persuaded us to drive up to Slieve League (despite the fact that we had assumed it would be too far), which are some of the highest cliffs in Europe, and told us that we would be sure to find a good place to eat in Killybegs. Well, it turned out to be one of our best days in Ireland and our best meal up to that point (22 Main in Killybegs). Our room had a beautiful view of the countryside and was very convenient to Donegal and the cliffs. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

“Not what I was expecting”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 June 2011

The owners were both very nice, personable, and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable but your window looking right into the parked cars out front was not pleasant. The location was too far from town to even consider walking in, you have to drive. The property has a nice view from one side but overlooks an industrial shopping center on the way in, which was a big detractor for me. The other issue I had was that I think someone in the house smokes. You can't smell it from your room, but I could smell it from the sitting room. This was not the experience I was hoping for.

“Brighten up the days”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 May 2011

I stayed with Mum and Sis in this lovely B&B last weekend. The weather wasn't great during our 3 night stay, but as the title suggests Eileen and Tony made our little break much brighter. The family room we stayed in was bright, clean (and believe me if sth would have been wrong, my mum would mention it :). Breakfast every morning was cooked to perfection and to our taste. Choice of cereals and fruit was wide as well. Eileen cleaned the room every day, made beds and served us tea and biscuits when chilling in the lounge by the fire. As none of us drives we hoped local public transport will be prepared at this time of year for tourists like us - we could not be more wrong. Even though we did not mind walking 30mintz to town, Eileen insisted on driving us every morning and to show us around town (and as it was rainy and windy we took on the offer). She also recommended local cafe "The Blueberry" which makes amazing cakes and pretty tasty lunch according to my Sis. Also the "Reel Inn" is a must if you are looking for a live music in the evening and a good chat with people from all over the world (it's a tourists spot but has good atmosphere).
Thank you Eileen and Tony
