My husband and I were on a lovely road trip around the west coast and up to Donegal. We got to downtown Donegal quite late about 9.30 pm and struggled to find a nice place to stay. Worried that we hadn't booked anywhere and it was getting late-
my husband looked up B&Bs from his iphone and came across the Arches. Noreen, the owner, answered and said she had a room available and was happy to give us directions. After a short, scenic drive we arrived. After driving all day and not being impressed with the accomodations in Donegal, we were pleased to find we had come to the right place. It was a breath of fresh air stepping out of the car to the amazing country-side. We were welcomed in and shown to our warm, immaculately clean, spacious room. As this was our last evening in Ireland, it was nice to be able to relax and sleep really well. In the morning we woke to a gorgeous view from our room of rolling hills, sheep, and beauty. We sat and admired the view while having tea in our room before we went down for breakfast. We had a lovely, huge breakfast- french toast, toast, tea and hot chocolate. Before leaving we chatted with the owner about our travels and she gave us a map to take and advice on the best scenic route towards Dublin. We are planning a trip back to Ireland with my family next time and will certainly stayed at the Arches again.
