“Very pleasant staff”

While I live within 30mins drive from this hotel, I stayed here for a family wedding recently.

The staff were exceptionally helpful and pleasant at all times. We were overcharged by mistake for the rooms and after noticing a day later, a short phone call and everything was sorted. No big deal or fuss, just staff eager to keep their customers happy.

Because of this, I'm thinking of becoming a member of their leisure centre. :)

“Nice hotel - saved our vacation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

Our stay at Mill Park Hotel was unplanned but saved our vacation. We had originally planned to stay for a week in self-catering accommodations in the west of County Donegal but, due to problems with the accommodations on the day of our arrival, found ourselves leaving there at midnight and driving for two hours to find an acceptable hotel with a vacancy. Around 2:00 a.m., we drove into Donegal and saw the Mill Park Hotel full of activity. Despite the large wedding party they were hosting, they had a room for us - although I was so tired I can barely remember that night, I know the room was clean, comfortable, and affordable. The next morning, we were unsure what to do about the rest of our week, since we no longer had a place to stay. When we talked to the hotel staff, we learned that they also have a small number of self-catering apartments in a nearby building. They promptly helped us move to a beautiful 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom apartment with granite countertops in the kitchen and beautiful views. The one night in the hotel and six nights in the apartment ended up costing the same as the self-catering accommodations we had originally reserved for the week. In addition, we had access to several of the hotel's amenities, including their business office.

“AS IMPRESSIVE AS OTHER VISITS”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

Once again our stay in the hotel was indeed very impressive as we have been guests in the Mill Park on many occasions. Crona, the reservation manageress, ensured that we received a complimentary upgrade when we were booking. Her courteous and warmhearted manner on the telephone when we rang to book was indeed a trait that is to be admired in receptionists nowadays. When we arrived we were greeted in reception by Paula and Niamh who again are to be complimented on their efficiency and courteousness. We were checked in within a few minutes without any fuss and their jovial manner was again to be commended.
Our evening meal was delicious and again the staff were very friendly and efficient. We also availed of the facilities in the leisure centre and the receptionist Teresa ensured that everything was to our satisfaction.
One of the housekeeping staff, also by the name of Teresa, took delight in giving us a tour of the various types of rooms and suites which have just been recently refurbished. Again it was evident that each and every one of the staff have been highly trained in customer relations as Teresa portrayed a very amicable and friendly manner. I must point out that this make-over was indeed very impressive as each of the rooms were decorated in subtle shades of various colours which certainly enhanced the decor of the hotel.
On checking out on Sunday morning, we were warmly greeted by Crona, who had taken our booking over the telephone the previous day. We were delighted to meet her in person and her jovial personality coupled with her generosity in offering us a complimentary upgrade to one of the magnificent suites in the hotel, certainly proved once again that customer relations
are highly prioritised in the Mill Park. She took the time to chat to us as she efficiently checked us out and wished us a safe homeward journey.
Our one night stay was indeed a delight to behold and we certainly are looking forward to a return visit in the not too distant future.

“New Years the Mill Park”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 January 2012

My wife and I stayed here on New Years eve and celebrated the night at the hotel. Uses nearly all of what the hotel had to offer and must say it was top class from start to finish.

The place is very personable and everyone is made special, The bedroom was spacious and very comfortable. The bar food was excellent. Fish n Chips were lovely. We spent the night with family and friends. They had light entertainment in foyer and did not mind people joining in. I even managed an old song myself.

All in all a great place and comes highly recommended from both of us.

“Nice hotel, good room, poor swimming experience”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

We stayed here for one night in late December. We found the room clean and warm and the location was convenient. Unfortunately, there were a few issues that would cause me to hesitate before booking here again. First of all, we did not have any towels in our room and had to request them from a cleaning person. She gave us enough to use for showering, but that was all.

When we attempted to use the pool, we were told that we would need to provide our own towels. Since we didn't have them to begin with, this was somewhat frustrating. When we told the pool woman of our dilemma, she gave us some attitude and ruined our desire to swim (since we'd have to deal with her again just to access the pool). We also learned that there is a swim cap requirement to use the pool and they were going to charge for the use of such caps.

Aside from this swimming/ towel snafu, the rest of our stay was pleasant. Our television didn't work at first, but a gentleman came to fix it for us after we complained. The restaurant seemed good and we enjoyed our room service pizza. Overall, it's not a bad place for the price you pay; just be sure to stay vigilant regarding your traveling needs.
