I have just returned from a weekend in Cork with 5 female friends, we are all in our early twenties. On the Friday, some of us arrived very early (8 a.m.) and were greeted with a smile and a full Irish breakfast (although they hadn't been expecting us that early). Brendan was brilliant, he couldn't do enough for us - but without being overbearing or pushy, he was just very friendly and always willing to help and offer advice about where to go. The rooms are clean, tidy and spacious. The price is a true bargain for what you get. There is a large selection for breakfast: fresh orange juice, apple juice, scones, yoghurts, variety of cereals, as well as pancakes, omlettes, a continental breakfast and full Irish breakfast which were delicious. One morning we sat downstairs chatting for a full 2 hours and not once were we made to feel like we should leave or get out of the way. When some of our party arrived the royal wedding was on, and keen not to miss anything we rushed straight into the living room and plonked ourselves down to watch the tv.... we are still unsure as to whether or not we should have actually been in there (afterwards we thought we might have actually invited ourselves into the private living room) but Brendan got tea, biscuits and settled down to watch it with us. He ordered us taxis to take us to the dogs, taxis to take us into Kinsale and even found some discount vouchers for shops for us. The location was fantastic, a short 5/10 minute walk into the town centre and on a quiet but safe road. I cannot praise Audley House enough, if you are looking for anywhere to stay in Cork, I would recommend to stay there. All of us loved it and if any of us go back to Cork, we will definitely be staying at Audley House.
