Myself and two of my friends stayed there for a night while we were visiting Cork and Blarney. The owners were very welcoming and ready to help us with any issues or questions we had. We had a fantastic time in Cork and this B & B was definitely a contributing factor. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and the breakfast was delicious and more than anyone could ever eat in one sitting. I can say I was very sad to leave Cork after feeling so welcome. I saw a review saying that it smelled like smoke and I will have to disagree. Everything was very clean and none of us were disturbed by the owners while sleeping. I have nothing bad to say about this B & B! We are students from the US and if my parents were to travel to Cork I would have them look no further. Cork is a hilly city so I challenge you to find a B & B that isn't up a hill; it definitely wasn't an unbearable walk by any means and you are rewarded with a beautiful view. I hope to go back to Cork and when I do Sunmount is where I’ll stay!

i recently stayed in this B & B and i truly had a great time. the owners were absolutely lovely and super helpful. They provided me with insider tips in- and outside of cork and made me feel very welcome. my room was basic but had everything i needed including a sink and tea making facilities. i believe the hallway was renovated recently and i thought this townhouse was fabulous. it is up the hill, but you can easily walk to the citycenter. i would always go back there and i can only recommend it. Very nice place with generous host willing to make your stay as confortable as possible.

I stayed with a friend and had a marvelous time here at Sunmount. The rooms were clean, the food was good, and the service was amazing! Both Paddy and Jane were wonderful hosts and great receptive people that were pleasant as well as respectful and courteous. The location is about a 20 minute walk to downtown, but it is an easy trot and is in a clean and safe neighborhood. It is certainly off the beaten path, but that is not a bad thing because it is quiet and allows for a good nights sleep.
