“great stay”

This hotel has had some bad reviews but our stay here was nothing but pleasant. the receptionist was very helpful when we arrived early she made some adjustments so we could check in straight away and also when we wanted to go to Blarney for the day she dug out the timetables for the buses so we knew exactly what time to catch it. The room was clean and spacious and the breakfast was very tasty and not bad value for money.

Gorgeous hotel with really nice rooms. The service and staff were lovely. The food was fantastic and in a really good location in the city. The waterfall out the back is gorgeous. I highly recommend it!

Room Tip: I stayed in one with a view of the illuminated waterfall and it was fab!

“No major problems but must have caught the receptionist on an off day!!”

All in all it was a lovely cork hotel but the check in annoyed me for rest of our 2 night stay. My sister was also staying in the hotel under our last name, I couldn't remember if we were booked under mine or my partners last name, the receptionist wasn't happy about this never mind trying to help us find out if it was mine or my partners name the room was under all she did was annoy me by her total ignorant attitude. Maybe I'm being sensitive because I work in a customer service environment and expect people who work in the same environment to act accordingly!.....We did also come across a delightful man working on the reception that night who was lovely.....we also got breakfast delivered to the room which was amazing! but since our were all over the place and we wanted to sleep until 3pm we didn't appreciate being woken up to a knock on the door when there was a "do not disturb" sign on it. All in all I would recommend this hotel for it's location and overall experience but the woman on the reception really needs to get her act together!

“Great weekend break”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

Three lads, well middle aged men really, enjoyed a great weekend in Cork, October 2011. We stayed at the Hotel Issacs. This proved to be good value for money. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend the cooked breakfast in Greens restaurant, it sets you up for the day and it was served by a charming waitress. The rooms were functional and clean. The only criticism was that the bar closed early on the Sunday evening without any prior notice. We returned just before 11pm intending to have a 'night cap' and were left disappointed.
The hotels location , just across the river from the city centre, proved to be ideal. Within easy walking distance of the railway station, bus station and city centre bars and restaurants.
Would definitely visit Cork again and stay at the Hotel Issacs
